To think police sirens regularly blaring at 11.30

Are a monumental PITA and surely not necessary on a residential street late at night.

Wait until you live on a slip road between the A12 and the only large hospital in a 30 mile radius then. Sirens literally blare our all day and night, every day and night, used to make me jump out of my skin. Don't even notice it after 8 years on this road!
