To think that £14 for a school jumper for a 4 year old is just disgusting?

AFAIK we have to buy the school logo ones although I will be checking for sure.

But £14 seems to be the going rate for a logo school jumper I can get one from Next for £8 or £4 from a supermarket but am paying double just for the school logo to be sewn on. They don't even seem to be that well made the shape is horrendous. Be bloody great when he loses it.

Oh and I was approached to be offered one free sweatshirt for my other child...I declined out of pride.

No one likes to have to beg, even if they can't afford these things. They know this.

eBay is a good suggestion from Northernlurker

I think then the next step is to conspicuously organise a network for parents to pass on used but good logoed items and tell the school you are doing this.

I would have accepted the free jumper, I have to say.

Marys - she approached me during the complaint. I was reluctant to accept anything which would undermine the fact it was a matter of principle - she did it to several of us who were involved, individually, as though trying to somehow get us back onside or stop us from taking it further.

Passing on second hand uniform is something the school office is handling at the moment, but it is very unofficial - I wouldn't know how to organise something like that myself. But thankyou for the idea.

On Facebook i have joined a local site that deals with 2nd hand school uniform...a mum i know set it up.
Last week i brought a jumper which new would have cost £24 but i got it for £5, nothing wrong with it.

Our school's logoed cardigan is £9.85 and I was complaining about that.

DD did YR in supermarket cardigans. The school keep moaning but as she has to have a clean one every day I am not spending almost £50 on school jumpers for her to lose/ ruin.
