You have not lived until you have drunk Great Wall wine Grin

I'm in walking distance of three chipshops, two open on a Sunday, but the one that doesn't is the best chip shop. There are also two chinese and two curry places, again within walking distance, oh and a Caribean place and a couple of greasy spoons.

I've also found a kebab place that delivers from 12pm, so it's not unknown for lunch to come from the kebab shop.

In fact dinner 25th December was from a kebab place.

As for Sunday roast, I like that too, but I have also found a carvery that does take out.

Is it anywonder I'm fat?

I could never understand chippies being closed early. My cousin lives in London and i could never get my heard round it.They would open at 10 in the morning and close at 6 or 7 at night.

Im in Dublin and its un heard of.also no chippers over there would sell curry sauce.Weird.
Whereas here chippers would open at 12 and stay open till 12 or 1 in the morning.Sometimes 3 o clock.

If you mean London - yep strange but there are places where chips and curry sauce is a normal order.

CleoSmackYa · 13/08/2012 12:13

YANBU. I always fancy chips on a Sunday, just to be disappointed Sad Our Chineses are always closed on a Monday, which is when I fancy noodles. Damn them all!

CasperGutman · 13/08/2012 12:17

The best chip shops sometimes seem to have the strangest opening times. One where I grew up only opened for a few hours each night, about 4.30 to 7.30, but its reputation was such that there would always be a queue of a dozen people outside. They'd shift more fish and chips in 3 hours than other places would in 24.

We don't get chips and curry sauce or mushy peas think its an English thing always like it when I go back down south.
