I recently had dd number 3, everyone has been really kind and we have recieved lots of lovely gifts for her, however a few of the outfits are really not to my taste and i can't see myself ever dressing dd in them, AIBU to exchange them for something dd will actually wear?
It seems rude to after someone has taken the time and effort to choose it but also a waste to sit unused in dd's wardrobe, what do you think?

YANBU

You could put dd in the clothes, take a picture and email to person who brought gift, then exchange Grin I didn't do this Wink

Of you can, it wouldn't make sense to leave them unworn. I took quite a bit back; some was due to dd growing out of it before I had chance to put it on her, and some outfits were just not my taste at all.

I did this. Only one or two things though...

My ds was given a yellow track suit thing. I love my friend who gave it to him so kept it and whaddaya know - it looks great on! So maybe try things first just in case Smile

I've always done this, any present I got for my dds always had a gift receipt in with it. Sometimes they got duplicate outfits or lots of "fancy" dresses which with the best will in the world they were never going to wear. I honestly don't think its that big a deal. Sometimes I even bought something for myself instead Shock

Grin @ wigglesrock. I've done that too. I really didn't like the stuff a friend got me from Asda and she'd been really generous too. The money went towards a food shop Blush In my defence I did 'bank' the money and brought dd stuff from Gap!

We've done this OP. Just say you needed a bigger size and had to change it.

Thanks everyone
That's the leopard print going straight back tomorrow then.

Yes exchange them. If anyone comments, just say she had too many clothes in that size and they didn't have it in next size up when you went to swap it. I've had some truly hideous outfits bought for dd over the years, particularly some lovely nylon dresses with nylon lace ruffles in abundance, I have become adept at lying through my teeth, i have enough problems with her complaining her cotton socks itch, I can imagine the trauma if something really was itchy!
