to not take a packed lunch for friends?

Just packing lunch for a day out with friends. As its the holidays, I have bought in naice smoothie drinks, fromage frais, crisps...stuff we don't normally have

We are getting through a colossal amount of groceries this holidays and I am skint. I was begrudging putting in extra stuff for friends kids who we are going with...so I didnt! I feel really mean. But it occured to me that its not my place to provide lunch for the others anyhow is it? I normally do, so that the kids can all have the same and no one feels left out/ stops any bickering. And just cuz its nice

But I'm skint. Am I being unreasonable?

I used to have a friend who was terrible for this. Her children were quite capable of eating everyone else's lunches as well. If her kids asked for some of my children's food, my friend (ex) would say, "Oh you'll have to ask Auntie Imperial about that" - often it was absolutely clear there wasn't enough for her. Her kids have usually eaten theirs before lunchtime so wanted a fresh lunch then.

DF always texts me to say please send a packed lunch when she decides to take a group out.

She has a big people carrier and fills it, asking her to feed 7 of them would be a bit mean. DD2 is also a total fuss pot.

We always take our own main picnic, and also cakes or biscuits to share with the group, others do this too. :)
