Apparantly I am being a "bit of a drama queen", despite it being completely involuntary.

The only issue I have with food is fat. I hate it. Not hidden fat like you get in bacon or chicken with the skin on, but those big lumps of wobbly fat you get in pre-made pies etc. I loathe and it makes me gag.

We had a ready meal type thing tonight as the kids are away and it was on offer. Cue me getting a big mouthful of this fat (even typing it is making me queasy!), and i couldnt finish my meal so H had it. I felt quite sick and then threw up (in the loo, not all over the lounge!). I didnt want to but it just happened.

He says I over reacted and am being OTT about a bit of fat that I spat out anyway.

AIBU to think "bollocks, eat a plate of sprouts and then tell me how YOU feel", obv he hates sprouts!

Sucking snot thing on babies?

Do you mean actually sucking snot out of........ I can't even finish the sentence!

PooPooInMyToes · 10/08/2012 22:39

Well it sounds involuntary so Im not sure how he expects you not to have done it!

Have you considered giving up meat? You definitely don't get lumps of fat in vegetarian food so problem solved Smile

NC H is a dramatic sneezer and that does piss me off!

Lora I think it is probably what you are imagining, sorry Confused

Pissy yep, that would be it. Yep, it is as gross as it sounds, I have seen it done. Not as gross as a big piece of gammon fat in a gratin though, funnily enough!

poopoo I very rarely eat meat these days, I just dont really like it. But I do have a bit of meat sometimes and this meal sounded ok, for a ready meal anyway! I will stick to my plate of veggies and spuds from now on I think! I could never be proper veggie as I like my gravy, lamb roasted potatoes and Haribo too much :o

Hah, I another one I have over H!

I just mentioned the snot sucking thing and he said "oh dont, that is really revolting" and I said "you do realise that your mum did that to you dont you?" and he gagged.

HAH! UP YOURS! :o

Please tell me your mil sucks and spits into a tissue any where other than swallows it?

I am sitting her with my nose turned up!

MoaningMingeWhingesAgain · 10/08/2012 22:53

I had that ham and leek gratin thing last week, Tesco Finest allegedly. Mine has big fatty lumps in it too - the dog ate it ok though.

bogeyface · 10/08/2012 22:56

Thats the one Moaning! It was in their £10 dinner thing. It was vile wasnt it?

Pissy She spits it into her hand and then washes it. Or atleast, thats what I think she did, H is refusing to discuss and looking green.

On the upside, I think I have won this argument as he is about to throw up despite not having had anything in his mouth :)

if you were dramatic about it or went on then yabu no reason why you cant just leave the table and go to the loo to puke then not even mention the puking if you made sicky noises at the table then the polite thing to do is apoligise and then leave it at that.

unless your under 10 but if you are go to bed its late

Sausagedog27 · 11/08/2012 07:56

Yanbu to have thrown up, but yabu to have bought a ready meal esp when you dont like lumps of fat.

I'm the same and hate stuff like that- I cook from scratch so I know what goes in!

Hope your feeling better now.
