Inspired ny a brief conversation with a friend of a friend, who said the cycle paths in France are really good. And flat Grin

I don't want to do a cycling holiday in the UK, cuz of the weathert. It would be me and a 8 yold on her own bike, with 2.5 yold in bike seat, also pulling trailer with camping stuff in it. Or maybe stay in hostels?

I was thinking of only doing 20-30 miles a day, with plenty of rest days...

I wouldn't hesitate without kids. Is it daft to do this with 2 kids? Anyone done it?

Have you looked at this company? www.cycling-for-softies.co.uk/. Might give you an idea of routes - it's a website I look at from time to time. Before abandoning the very thought of it..! Grin

Friends of mine did Cycling for Softies with 3 children who would have been about 3, 6 and 8 at the time. They loved it.

superior that's good to hear. I got all inspired by your list and started looking at your route! Grin. I have calmed down now, and accepted that it is too ambition with dd2 still so wee. I think it must get quite uncomfortable sat in a kiddie bike seat for too long. But, ill save that idea if you don't mind, for when she is free wheeling

I'm thinking Saintes to Ile de Re is looking very doable, with some day trips from base, then back to Saintes, to pick up that bus. Can't yet find a cycling map which covers that part of France. It seems to fall into a space between 2 maps. Lots of time for research and planning though!

Will look at cycling for softies thanks for the link Smile
