Im 30+5 weeks pregnant with my first baby.

Its not been an easy pregnany, horrendous SPD/PGP, bleeding at 21 weeks, which resulted in a two night stay in hospital. Spotting at 26 weeks.
Im also Rh Neg blood so have the anti D injections.

Over the last week i ve noticed the baby (girl) isnt moving as much as she used to. Im still getting the 10 movements in 24hours, but she doesnt move nowhere near as much as she used to. Sometimes she ll kick 3 times in a row, but nothing for hours and hours, and maybe a kick here and there after that. There is no pattern to her movements. She did used to move alot in the mornings, but doesnt anymore.

As she is still doing the 10 movements in 24hours, i feel silly and like im over reacting if i contact the hospital.

I have a friend who's had 2 still borns (roughly 28 years ago) and she makes me paronoid! The things she says to me make me paranoid.

Im absolutley petrified of having a still born and worry about it all the time.

Do you think i should be concerned about the lack of movement? I ve heard after 30 weeks movements can change or slow down due to reduced space in the womb.

I havent told my DH as i dont want to worry him.

Last night i had a very cold glass of water and she did give 3 kicks within 60seconds of drinking it, but wasnt highly active.

Just got back, they put me on a monitor for 45mins.

They said they are happy with the monitor readings and when i was examined, the midwife said she feels im carrying more water than average (which could explain my swollen feet and fingers).

However im still not convinced shes moving enough, but im sure they know best.

I'm glad you went in, they examined you and everything is OK. Worrying is perfectly normal but please if you still feel unsure or there are any changes just ring them, they won't mind and it is better if you feel at all worried. Good luck for the rest of the pregnancy.

Don't be afraid to go back and get a second opinion if you are still worried - it is your child's life we are talking about, be pushy if you have to!

Glad everything seems okay op. Have they arranged a scan for you to check fluid levels? If the levels are higher than average it could cushion her movements so they are not so easy to feel.

When you were on the trace did you have a clicker to press when she moved? How many times did you feel her in the 45 mins? When she moved did you see an increase in her heart rate? Was it a computerised ctg - where the computer monitored the trace and it had to meet certain criteria?

LittleSugaPlum · 10/08/2012 21:28

No they havent arranged a scan, but they have said that if i dont feel her much by tomorrow afternoon then ring again.

She did say that as she feels im carrying alot of water then it could be cushioning her movements.

Her heart rate was increasing sometimes on the monitor and the MW said my pulse was high when she did my blood pressure.

I did have one of those click things in my hand, she moved 3 times in 45 mins, but thats the most shes moved all day.

It was a machine that did a print out of the monitoring and then a consultant checks it.
