To make my house sitter sleep in dd bed?

We have a friends son (aged 22) staying for one night to look after the dog as when alone at night he howls. :(
I'm feeling a little funny about him sleeping in my dh and mine bed.
The girls have bunk bed but also a trundle bed under that.
Would I be unreasonable to ask him to sleep in their room on the trundle bed?

jumpingthroughhoops I agree! I house-sat for 3 different families several times in my late teens and early 20's and not once did I sleep in the parents' room, although I could have done if I'd wanted to.
It just felt a bit odd, although I'm not sure why

this is for one night, and I think he won't care at all where he sleeps!

You could board the dog. That is what we do. He would have company!

We normally board him but seemed pointless for one night.

You are being totally strange about your room you know!

But it is probably easier for him to stay on the spare trundle bed in your kids room seeing as it is full sized. Easier to wash and change a single bed than a double.

plus it is nicer to sleep in a 'spare' bed as a guest rather than someone's actual bed

lisad123 · 07/08/2012 23:19

Yep I'm strange, but you know I'm not the only one Wink

As someone who has house sat he'd probably prefer the spare bed as its strange sleeping in someone elses bed. And your not being strange about your bed after all its the one place in the house which is urs (and ur DH's I presume) so why wouldn't you want to keep it that way. Offer him the spare bed
