OP posts:
arthurfowlersallotment · 06/08/2012 00:36

Has anyone google image searched blue waffle yet?

tartyflette · 06/08/2012 00:36

ok, valiant effort here -- chicken bricks. They are supposed to keep the chicken lovely and moist inside but still with a crispy skin and yes, you can put potatoes around the meat. I think you have to soak them before use.
They were very common on the 70s (very old emoticon)

Well, I tried. And no, I am absolutely not googling dragon butter or the like (again), I feel a little queasy anyway at the moment, it would finish me off.

TheQueenOfDiamonds · 06/08/2012 00:37

Wrong isn't it! Dirty fuckers.

TheQueenOfDiamonds · 06/08/2012 00:39

Not since I was at school arthur. I've sort of forgotten what it is. I know our school computers blocked it but 14 year olds make better techies than qualified adults but we got around it.

Flojo1979 · 06/08/2012 00:43

Ok I urban dictionaried them.
Feel a bit sick now.
I only wanted to know what a chicken brick was!

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 06/08/2012 00:47

Worra you are very wicked!
The rest of you - don't google anything mentioned above - it will take you weeks to recover.
tartyflette is right about the chuck brick, we were given one as a wedding present, and I thought, ooh that sounds fabulous. Never, ever used it i 28 years.
Faffing about soaking it in water, it's not hard to cook a nice chicken is it?

Flojo1979 · 06/08/2012 00:50

Ok I won't rush out to buy one!

OP posts:
Only4theOlympics · 06/08/2012 00:53

You sick sick people you made me Google tub girl before I went to bed. Nightmares will ensue.

AlwaysHoldingOnToStars · 06/08/2012 00:57

I'm ignoring everything else. Though I've seen a blue waffle before and have no desire to see it again.

I never knew what a chicken brick was, nor had i even heard of one till this thread. It sounds like it does the same as my roasting tin, so not sure why I'd ever want one.

Doingakatereddy · 06/08/2012 01:05

Im so tired, I'm missing something aren't I - searched chicken brick & it described naice John Lewis way to cook chicken. I means it's middle class, but hardly the stuff of sickos

It was an essential in the 1980s, you just had to visit hHabitat and get one.

Moln · 06/08/2012 04:44

Great now I want to Google tub girl.

Well I don't want to, but you lot have made me feel unable to not.

Hope you are happy with yourselves [stern smiley]

sue52 · 06/08/2012 09:43

I still use one that was bought given a wedding present in 1982. It keeps your chicken moist and the oven clean.

IDismyname · 06/08/2012 09:48

Well I have a chicken brick.

I loves it. Soak for ten mins in cold water, chuck in chicken and veg. Put into cold oven and turn oven on (v. imp. bit)

Several hours later - yummy chicken and veg. No dirty oven and only one pot to clean up.

My kind of supper.
