To think we might have met some swingers?

This is not a joke. We have made some new friends recently - very nice couple, lots in common etc. It's just that I am very astute on picking up on certain things and I am sure they want us to swing with them.

It's just things they say, looks they give - and even today the actual subject was brought up on the pretext of talking about a friend of theirs who swings.

If anyone reads this does swing how do people invite others to swing? Apart from car keys/pampas grass.

Sorry, should say could you ask one of them

SquidgyBiscuits · 05/08/2012 23:25

I rather think that if people are open enough to have sex with other people, they'd probably be open enough to admit it if asked.

I'm also sure you'd know by now if they wanted to involve you, assuming of course that they are actually swingers!

WorraLiberty · 05/08/2012 23:26

All joking aside for a minute...

Are you saying this couple are sexual predators?

Because if so, I really don't see why unless you and your DH are drop dead gorgeous and they just can't stop thinking about you.

Otherwise, they'll probably continue to swing with...errrr other swingers?

Houseofplain · 05/08/2012 23:26

Swingers here, leave their porch light on. It's true no really, it is. So I've been told.

WorraLiberty · 05/08/2012 23:32

House when you said 'swingers here'...I thought you were posting on behalf of you and your DH Grin

hf128219 · 05/08/2012 23:33

Thanks guys. I am just going to ask them - no qualms now after your input.

They have asked us on holiday etc - I just don't want to spoil a nice friendship if they think we are into more.

OP posts:
BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 05/08/2012 23:34

Well, you would have a memorable holiday, for one reason or another Wink

usualsuspect · 05/08/2012 23:34

Op you can still be friends with them, just make it clear you are not into swinging.

hf128219 · 05/08/2012 23:36

Usual suspect - I agree entirely. I was just beginning to panic!

OP posts:
Houseofplain · 05/08/2012 23:39

That'll be news to him worral Grin

Olympia2012 · 05/08/2012 23:42

Numberlock · 06/08/2012 00:28

Pumpster Nice one on the Alan Partridge quote. Smile

CaptainSharonRaydor · 06/08/2012 03:10

pumpster Grin

Should things get a little over familiar the next time you meet these people OP, may I suggest another Mr Partridge quote?

"stop rubbing your fanny on me"

That should nip things in the bud Wink

feckingnora · 06/08/2012 06:05

DH and i are soft swingers, all of our encounters have been done in a club, or a couple we met online. (We are always safe btw!)

our problem is that if we meet people in 'RL' who we fancy, we dont really know how to broach the subject!

I like women, but dont know how invite someone to join us, with out freaking them out. We are looking to meet another couple or woman to join us for fun, but have not met anyone on line that we like, but have met some lovely people in rl, but dont know if that is their thing!

ripsishere · 06/08/2012 06:23

I started a new job last week. On the second day, I met a woman who swings. She asked me if I was interested I said not really. She said I could send my DH along if he was at a loose end.
I asked him, he said not really his thing. I reported back to her the next day. She was fine. It was all out in the open, no cloak and dagger stuff and mainly spoken about as we showered a client.

JollyHockeyStick · 06/08/2012 06:24

I don't know why you would be asking them if you're not interested. You'll just give them the wrong impression.

OhNoMyFoot · 06/08/2012 06:34

Pumpster - just what I was thinking

Op, are you sure? If you come out and ask, and they aren't that's could be hard to recover from. How did you respond to the subject when it was mentioned?

RabbitsMakeBrownEggs · 06/08/2012 06:48

Most swingers are just normal people like us, and like my lesbian friends aren't all trying to jump my bones, neither are my swinger friends sizing me up for their bed when we go round for dinner.

Tee2072 · 06/08/2012 06:58

"...mainly spoken about as we showered a client."

Is that code for something? Interesting time to be discussing swinging...

Numberlock · 06/08/2012 07:11

Captain Or just tell them you don't want to be part of their sex festival!Smile

GColdtimer · 06/08/2012 07:19

A bit Hmm at "mainly spoken about as we showered a client". Also did you really go back to your dh and say "a friend is into swinging, I'm not fussed but do you fancy going on your own".

I wouldn't mention it unless you have given them the impression in any way you could be interested.

WorraLiberty · 06/08/2012 10:05

ripsishere you're a domiciliary carer aren't you? Shock

What did your client think of the conversation?

VictoriaBitter · 06/08/2012 10:15

My DH and I found ourselves in a situation where it became apparent that the couple we were having dinner with at their house were swingers. They had this little cottage in the garden with a huge bed in it, where they insisted we go for after-dinner drinks so as not to wake the children. We noticed that whilst our glasses were never empty, they were suddenly hardly drinking at all. They were also sitting a bit too close and the wife kept 'accidentally' rubbing her breasts on my arm.

The evening ended with DH and I literally running away up a country road with the wife of the couple following us in her car once they realised we had gone. DH was dragging me, saying "run, Vic, RUN!!!".

I have still have the scars on my leg from where he was dragging me. Oh, and this has just outed me to anyone who knows me IRL Grin

SirBoobAlot · 06/08/2012 10:28

Loving this terror of swingers, its hilarious. ITS JUST SEX, PEOPLE!

OP if they ask you, just politely decline. Or give it a go if they're good looking Wink

Agree with what other posters have said about websites, that tends to be much more how its done as opposed to the whole keys in the fruit bowl 70s image.
