Crying in the middle of the point, 17-16 in the final set of the semifinal, do people have no sense???

Do you have a link to the link?!

I haven't read the whole thread so I may be repeating what has already been said, but I think the tennis is probably one of the less baby-friendly sports. I certainly wouldn't have risked it. We did, however, take DS2 (6 months) to the rowing, where the crowd were definitely not going to be asked to be silent.

He loved it. He beamed at everyone and laughed at the cheering, and spent a lot of time gazing at the flags on the back of the stands. I suppose it must have been baby heaven - bright colours, lots of smiling faces, lost of movement, music, and no attempt by his parents to put him down at any point!

But if he had got stroppy, I would have taken him out. Even in a big, noisy crowd, there is still the potential to spoil someone else's enjoyment by making them sit next to a screaming baby.

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/2012/live-video/p00w3070 4:38:30 for about 2 minutes. It goes on for quite a while.

that's not a baby surely? sounds more like a toddler.

part of being a professional sportsman is training to deal with crowds, spectators, the public and distractions.

bogeyface · 06/08/2012 00:33

Tell this kid that he shouldnt be allowed into the Tennis.

He is clearly younger than 12.

Wonder if it was the same baby that cried through the mixed doubles final?

StunningCunt · 06/08/2012 02:09

That kid is actually 11. www.ft.com/cms/s/0/0adf6380-df1f-11e1-97ea-00144feab49a.html

A bit different from a screaming baby/toddler who couldn't give a shit about the tennis.

As I said, younger than 12, which was the age bandied about above as the cut off.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 06/08/2012 03:38

I haven't seen many people on this thread wanting a cut off. Most want others to be more thoughtful and less entitled!

IMHO very few children would like/enjoy the tennis as its hard to sit still/be silent for that long. I still don't think a blanket ban should be in place as it would mean the very few children who are avid fans and would enjoy and behave would be unable to attend.

I also didn't see people's opinions changing after the pp stated they had pnd. More that we can all see that she regrets the decision and there's nothing anybody can do about it now, it's happened.

Some reactions have been harsh to the lady/couple with the baby, but I agree it was a complete lack of common sense on their part.

BlisdergamesbeginPack · 06/08/2012 03:51

Oh was that a random child in the crowd? I thought it was a relative of Murray's. The boy kept shouting Andy, Andy and I was so glad when AM turned around and hugged him.
