AIBU to be concerned about school staff

Also put this in education but know there is more traffic here

Got the parent briefing from the DCS school (DS1 going back for 6th form and DS2 going back to year 8) there are 19 teachers that have left at the end of this term, yes 19.

It is a C of E high school just been granted academy status (that's a whole other thread) with 1000 students.

I think 19 is a lot of staff to go and it seems that at the end of each term staff leave, not one or two but in droves. Its ofsted is GOOD but I am starting to worry about staff turn over, the head has an open door meeting each month, would it be unreasonable to go to the September meeting and voice my concerns? All the head ever goes on about is the importance of the right uniform I would be more worried about the teaching staff then if a child has the right socks on

I teach in an 1800 strong academy, recent conversion. Unusually this year we had ( I think) 18 teaching staff leave, out of around 100 teachers, so higher than expected churn, BUT 4 were retiring, 3 were mat leave covers, 2 were mat leave non returners, 6 had significant promotions, so does that indicate a general dissatisfaction with the school and academies, personally i don't think so.
what the op is describing could be a problem, but may well not.

my dd's school had 27 staff leave, some retired and others moved for other reasons. A new head started last september so I guess some may have left due to changes,

It is an normal secondary school

If it happens often then its likely that the SMT are incompetant bullies. It is very very common in schools that this is the case. Especially in academies you get older, more expensive teacher being hounded out so they can be replaced with NQTs.

I interviewed at a school recently where there were 25 staff leaving and they were on their third HT of that academic year. Their pass rate for 5 A*-C GCSEs including Eng and maths was 35%.

I declined to continue with the interview once I found all this out.
