To think its fine for children to share cups?

We went to a soft play today and the DC ( my 2 DS's and my neice and nephew) had a large jug of juice to share and 4 paper cups.

My sister then wrote the children's names on each cup so they didn't get muddled up apparently 'because of germs'. My Mum and I did start laughing and my (lovely!) sister then said it was to save arguments later.

AIBU to think it doesn't really matter if the children's cups get muddled up and this is slightly strange behaviour? None of them were ill.

Kids share everything - if not in front of you then at nursery or school. I wouldn't be too worried to be honest.

depends how old the children are and if they are able to make clear a known preference not to share, my DN does not like sharing with anyone, not even his mother or father and with many younger siblings and cousins, this is the kind of thing we would do for him, seems fair enough.

the younger kids i would not be to bothered if they shared or not, but if they are likeley to swap floters and snot then they are probably best not sharing.

Yabu

Children can have so many germs. Sore throats that they haven't mentioned etc...I have spent enough time with mine being ill at home and will try to avoid as much as poss.

Sharing cups? Awful habit. It does spread germs and you could probably halve the gastric illnesses children have if everyone was a bit more careful. Why is that people recoil at the idea of hospital staff not washing their hands but then think it's ok for children to share cups?

I'd go with the names purely for the stopping fighting.

Jeez, let's all walk around with rubber gloves on face masks...come on a bit OTT dontchathink? Kids will always dribble, wipe their snot, kiss, share cups, food- the worlds gone mad. OP, YA definitely NBU! Wink
