schools giving out Olympic tickets

Hi, it's not an aibu, it's just to let anyone whose child has been awarded Olympic tickets from their school know that the ticket admits ONE person.
My child was awarded a ticket from primary school, with a letter saying 'it allows one child and accompanying adult to watch Olympic event'
It doesn't. Each ticket admits one person, the adult is expected to buy their own ticket - which could be in another part of the stadium!
Apparently many people have been given this misinformation, and there will be chaos at the gates when people are expecting to get in with their children
Anyone with tickets received from school can ring 01634 729877

Oh, I just put on another thread about some of our schools tickets. They are in blocks of 4 seats (a family of 4) and all seem to be full tickets. My friend won on set for the swimming, I'll get her to check!

That sounds like mismanagement on the part of the school. We had some tickets for our sports club and made sure that they were divided into pairs or fours, each group containing one adult.

The woman on the phone from the ticket people said the wording with the tickets was 'ambiguous' and had quite a few people calling to check.
Dd's school say they were awarded 13 tickets, so I don't get how they were meant to distribute them?!
My ticket is for old Trafford. I've managed to tell one parent about this, but 11 other pairs will be turning up without proper tickets. Obviously, can't get hold of the school!

I agree it was ambiguous. That's why our club phoned the council who issued them to check the exact details. What they apparently meant was, the tickets are meant for children but, within the total number of tickets allocated, some can be for adults so that no child has to attend alone. I think it was to stop the allocation of tickets meant for children being taken over by parents - which makes sense. The school really should have checked.
