to put a 'baby on board' sign on my bike?

so don't drive like a knob

I have recently started driving dd to nursery as I don't have a car and the bus takes forever with the traffic (London). For some reason despite having what is obviously a baby seat on the back some drivers find it acceptable to verbally abuse me/intimidate me. Should I make it clear to them that there is in fact a child in the child seat?

Tbh the verbal stuff doesn't bother me so much as the intimidation which can be quite dangerous - for example being forced out of a T-junction by a 4x4 driver who didn't want to wait while I was waiting for a safe gap to go into the road. Then again my dd is nearly 2 so can understand quite a lot these days.

I think you should put the sign up but also choose a safer route even if it takes a bit longer. If people are shouting at you, you are driving along hurried semi histerical people, the most unsafe people to have around when you are pedaling with a child on tow.

cartagena I do go along a longer but quieter route which nearly entirely avoids main roads. Unfortunately I live in London though and drivers cannot be avoided, no matter how quiet a route you pick. I do wonder how much longer I will do this though!

I've been hit by cars three times whilst cycling. Once when i was a kid and that was mostly my fault, but twice as an adult. Only minor, but enough that i know i'll never take a baby on a bicycle.

Until the whole culture of driver's attitudes towards cyclists changes, it's just too dangerous. Some car drivers really think very little of cyclists.
