to be happy and yet sad that Subway now deliver?

Happy that they deliver as there isnt one near me that doesnt involve paying for parking and a 5 minute walk, so not good for popping into if you arent already in town.

However, sad because a) you need to spend £9 or pay a £2 delivery charge, to put off people at home I suppose, and cater to offices and b) I will get even fatter :(

I have never eaten a subway - what do they sell? should I try?

FutTheShuckUp · 28/07/2012 23:20

Wow do they ? GrinGrin I've had two this week aloneGrinGrin

bogeyface · 28/07/2012 23:21

I always have the subway melt, the most expensive natch Hmm

They are delish but expensive imo, and its annoying that a 6 inch doesnt quite fill you up (fnaaaaaar!) but a foot long is too much.

The meatball marinara (sp? something like that anyway) is raved about too.

Brilliant news OP!!

FutTheShuckUp · 28/07/2012 23:23

I think all four of us in this house will wet ourselves with excitement if we receive any such leaflet!!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/07/2012 23:23

Ooooh I had one last week after watching the Torch Relay.

It made me go and buy dill pickles and olives to put on a salad roll (if I CBA) Grin

It was yummy though.

RubyFakeNails · 28/07/2012 23:24

Must not let the dc know about this. I don't eat it personally as I'm a food snob fussy eater but the dcs love it!

gobbledegook1 · 28/07/2012 23:47

I'm not a fan of subway.

Denise34 · 28/07/2012 23:49

Is it really that hard to make a sandwich at home?

hoops997 · 28/07/2012 23:56

I'm quite funny with food, I have to watch my sandwich being prepared or I can't eat it, so I won't be getting Subway delivered, good idea though for lunchtimes, healthy alternative to pizza etc

bogeyface · 28/07/2012 23:59

Well no Denise it isnt, in the same way that it isnt that hard to make a burger at home, or a curry, or a stir fry.

My husbands dreams have come true Grin I don't get them, but he loves them.

Thistledew · 29/07/2012 00:08

Who knew you needed so many ingredients to make bread. All that sugar and oil huh? Who'd of thunk it? The reliance on corn syrup and corn oil is not good for the orang-utan's whose habitats are being destroyed to grow it you either.

A 12 inch Chicken & Bacon sub on Honey Oat Bread with Chipolte sauce is 1,700 calories Shock!

bogeyface · 29/07/2012 00:14

I have one every couple of months, I think I can cope with that, thank you.

Noqontrol · 29/07/2012 00:22

Whats so good about subway? Ive never had one.

SchrodingersMew · 29/07/2012 00:22

I think only one of them deliver, at least I only got 1 from Googling. :(

bogeyface · 29/07/2012 00:41

Schrodingers I bet loads do, cos I live in the back of beyond, so if we have a delivery service then the cities are bound to have.

OP posts:
SchrodingersMew · 29/07/2012 00:43

Can I PM you with where it is that's delivering and you can just tell me no if it's not the one please? desperately clinging to Subway delivering here.

SchrodingersMew · 29/07/2012 00:46

Have just checked their FB, it's only Greater London and South East. :(

happybubblebrain · 29/07/2012 00:53

I've only ever had one Subway and it was a mean and miserable sandwhich saturated in vinegar. I'd asked for a cheese and salad, but the piece of cheese was about 1cm x 3cm x 1mm big. I think they can keep their crap food and home delivery.

bogeyface · 29/07/2012 00:53

It buggering isnt! I live in the midlands and got the leaflet today, so perhaps they havent got around to updating yet.

PM away!

happy if you want a nice cheese salad then go to Birds, theirs are lovely. But if you want a meat and cheese filled sub, stuffed with "bad for you"? and dripping calories then Subway is your friend :o

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 29/07/2012 00:57

Fret not Bogeyface I live in essex (Saaaaaaaaarrrfff East) so I'll eat your share.

Generous to a fault, me.

sashh · 29/07/2012 07:38

Is it really that hard to make a sandwich at home?

No but it is not that easy to have all the ingredients without any going off when you only want a meat ball sub once in a blue moon.

Whats so good about subway? Ive never had one.

You choose your bread, you choose your filling (main filling plus salad, olives, onions, chillies, can't remember what else), then a sauce, they tell you how many calories and how much fat is in one and then you have to take it home and eat with a knife and fork because you cannot stuff them in your mouth.

The fillings include meatballs and cheese - you have to try one, just don't make it a habit.
