1 builder (professional, accredited etc)

Today he has hung 2 doors.

That is all.

8 hours.

I really think this is taking the piss!

Am I being unreasonable?

Bloody hell my DH hangs doors and we in Cornwall and we cheaper how come we are struggling for more work. That said two oak doors could take a day if needed adjusting etc. and the heat would not have helped however should have a labourer really.

Because everytime I tell my dh he needs to put his prices up (mostly from threads on here) he always reckons the highest prices are in London/SE.

Thank his it's his last day today.

He's shooting himself in the foot really as I would not hire him again in a million years and we have several other large-ish projects to do over the next 12-18 months.

Got that horrible feeling in my stomach when you know you've been ripped off :(

I would have expected more from a professional, it does sound like he is taking advantage

imnotmymum · 27/07/2012 08:32

weakest I am available for quotes Grin

poorbuthappy · 27/07/2012 08:34

Mark it up as experience and move on.
Shame we aren't closer!!

imnotmymum · 27/07/2012 08:48

That said £200 is not his take home pay. Tax 20%, VAT, fuel, van running costs, insurances, tools ...
