I listen to Nick Ferrari and his mostly ghastly chums on LBC in preference to subjecting myself to Radio 2. Chris Evans does my head in, Ken Bruce sends me to sleep and irritates me at the same time, Steve Wright is just the living end (HOW does he still have a radio show?) I enjoy and hate Jeremy Vine in exactly equal measures

70isaLimitnotaTarget, I have had the misfortune to hear Steve Allen a couple of times and he is indeed the King of Drivel. There is stiff competition over at LBC for the presenter that makes people want to cut off their ears the most, but he is definitely in the running.

How have you managed to hear him? Or are you really a secret fan?

I used to like Steve Wright on Radio 1, though. I remember Llama Man very fondly.

Our radio alarm comes on at 6am, so I know I can snooze (and set myself up with enough drivel to distract my patients from talking about The Weather)

D'you know I've seen Nick Ferrari on TV and he matched my mental image but I've never googled Steve Allen.
My mental picture is he looks like that Ventriloquist Ray Alan -he was with Lord Charles.
I'm sure the 2 images are worlds apart.

70s. A one man show with Steve Allen!

Do you listen to Nick Ferrari? I do coz there's bog all else I can cope with on the radio or TV at that time and I usually really enjoy his show, even though I disagree with about 99% of what he says. This morning, he was actually seriously advocating bringing back slapping in schools for children who step out of line. Apparently he was hit at school and 'it never did me any harm' I have to turn him off when he starts on about women drivers or women anything in fact - we all have our limits!

I have Nick F in the car when I'm out and about.
They all tend to be a bit from time to time.

(There's one who does a lunchtime show who never uses 1 word when he can use 12. IIRC James O'Brien)

I do like that Nick F will argue with someone talking rubbish.
But I do shout at him on the radio.

(I used to listen to Simon Caulders Travel Clinic and Ken Livingston too when I could)
