About my neighbour's cat?

The cat in question has now moved, but I wasn't using AIBU then and I would like to ask for views in retrospect!
Next door had a cat which kept coming into my garden to poo, wee (which stank) and laze about all day. It also would come into my house if I left a downstairs window open or the patio door. Thus, for two summers with a small baby in the house, I've had to close them when I wasn't in the room. It was also left outside every night in the summer so would start miaowing very loudly outside by baby's window every morning from 5 am onwards to get back in.
Would it have been unreasonable for me to complain about this animal? Is this sort of inconvenience just to be expected if you live next to a cat? Just wondering now... I guess because I'm enjoying my first cat free summer for a while!

Our cat has a nasty habit of invading neighbouring houses. I've bought them all little water pistols & instructed them to squirt the cheeky little git every time he does it.

No idea if it's working yet - he's mostly lying under a tree asleep in the hot weather.

I have cat proof spikes attached to the top of all my fences and wire mesh over the wrought iron gate and spikes on the top!

No more vile catshit in my flower beds!

Mind you next doors cat was poisoned so doesnt come into my garden anymore anyway. It was not me that did the deed as the cat was lovely and would lie on my garden seat in the sun looking like a picture postcard. Think it was another cat that did the shitting.

Waterpistol not much good unless you are prepared to get up at sunrise when they do it!

Had to check thread in case you are my neighbour... luckily not.
My cat is very naughty - she loves being squirted with water & eats Tesco carrier bags.. yesterday tried to attack a neighbour changing his tyre :(
Then she just sat out of reach hissing at him... luckily his reaction was to ignore her which was the best thing to do.
She's constantly attention seeking like a toddler.

So as she didn't get his attention she marched off in a strop.

Water pistol. Not a super soaker or anything, just something that will get them gently wet. It isn't cruel and should train the cat the your house = icky wet.

Having a word with the owners isn't going to help. Would you rather they locked the cat inside all the time?

Whois- personally I'd love it if my neighbor kept her cats indoors. Their family was having a great time in the pool this afternoon whilst her FIVE cats were turning out rank shits all over MY garden. She later came round to ask for her ball back and I'd wished I'd had the guts to tell her to take the fucking cat shit with her too. I literally can't use my garden because it stinks so badly of piss in this weather. I know there are some responsible cat owners but in my experience most are irresponsible . My last neighbours had so many cats breeding with each other there were kittens dragging themselves around with missing limbs and god knows what else it was horrendous.

Another vote here for the water pistol. There really isn't anything your neighbour could have done about it (other than rehoming the cat). You, on the other hand...

YABU. I like cats better than I like people who think the world should only be populated by human beings, with no space for animals because it mildly inconveniences them.
