To think this a bit weird

Im going to a hen night tonight and I don't know ANY of the other ten people going. I don't even know the bride that well. I've maybe had three short conversations with her ever. It's at a restaurant. Should I bring something or offer to help pay for her tonight or whats the form? I've left it a bit late to get her anything decent but then I have no idea what she'd want.
Anyway I'm kind of dreading this. Is that unreasonable?

Hilda I know her because a couple of my other friends know her. She also has a son in ds's year.

Are you going to the wedding?

I'd pull out. Why go to something where you don't know anyone and there's enforced jollity?

Send her a FB message saying you think your son's getting chickenpox so you can't come out.

I was just being nosey,Spider :).It's mad that she is having so many hen nights, she's really making the most of it!

Well, enjoy the night if you go :)

"I chose the one least likely to involve novelty accessories and inflatable cocks"

Dont bank on it... she probably expect that at each "event" too...

Yoou don't have to stay to the end if you feel awkward while there, do you?

HildaOgden · 21/07/2012 18:12

Sometimes the nights you dread the most, turn out to be the best fun.

Stay for the meal then leave if an inflatable cock appearsyou don't want to stay.

Strikethrough fail :(

Hmmmm this seems awfully familiar

Well I went and it was fine. Nice even. No inflatable phallus in sight. No novelty wardrobe items. They carried on for cocktails. I'm back home in bed. Job done.
