So is it the DM or the photography that bothers you?

HappyJustToBe · 17/07/2012 12:07

I quite like Ezra for a girl. The photos are nice too though I can't imagine a time when I would invite a photographer into a delivery room.

ssd · 17/07/2012 12:08

you're just jealous and more than a bit attention seeking

those pictures are lovely

I'm sure your "friend" will be delighted you're slagging her off on line

where did you see the pictures if you don't buy the daily mail? its only a paper, if you don't like it don't buy it

OAM2009 · 17/07/2012 12:08

Hmm Ezra here too!

The only Ezra that jumps to mind is Ezra Pound by Dickens and it's pretty sure Ezra's a boy.

OTheHugeManatee · 17/07/2012 12:19

A girl called Ezra? She'll get on fantastically with my little DD Steve.

GoatsHaveStrangeEyes · 17/07/2012 12:56

She had linked to it through facebook, thats how i saw it.

And no i don't read it.

I agree the pictures are beautiful, never said anything different.

Maybe the person who wrote the story is freelance and sold story to highest bidder?

Nancy66 · 17/07/2012 13:06

Prefer Ezra for a girl to Klaire with a K

PenelopePipPop · 17/07/2012 13:17

Ezra Pound was a twentieth century modernist poet not a book by Dickens. The name Ezra is typically a boys name but also a variant spelling of Esra which is a very common girls name in Turkey. I know two women Ezra's. I am also not quite sure why it is wrong to get precious about pink for a girl/blue for a boy but OK to be snide about people choosing a boys name for a girl if they happen to like it.

They are lovely photographs. Please tug all your judgy-pants down or you'll get sore chafed parts.

SoleSource · 17/07/2012 13:22

I just watched This Morning on ITV+1 and the discussion of the day on The Hub was this very subject. I posted an AIBU thread about it.I haven't read thE DM for months. I can't bear to look.

nickelbarapasaurus · 17/07/2012 13:24
Grin

i had a friend taking pictures through my birth.
they're not as good as that though.

nymeria · 17/07/2012 13:27

I don't see the problem Confused. It's not something I'd choose to do (either having the photos done, or being featured in a newspaper story!) but your reaction is weird IMO.

nickelbarapasaurus · 17/07/2012 13:33

nymeria - i think it's the fact it was the daily fail more than the fact of doing the article.

this is Mumsnet.

OAM2009 · 18/07/2012 17:49

Blush oh dear, my judgy pants have cut off the circulation to my brain Blush

Apologies to Ezra Pound and all other Ezras!

manicbmc · 18/07/2012 18:03

I think the name Ezra is wanky - just my opinion.

Yes, the pictures are nice and all that but what if something hadn't gone to plan? Some nice pics of an emergency c section? Hmm

BrianCoxhasSmellySox · 18/07/2012 18:06

Beautiful name, stunning pictures.

Don't quite understand the judgey pants responses.

Quite disappointing really.

Ephiny · 18/07/2012 21:57

Ezra for a girl is...unusual. It's a male Biblical name, isn't it?

But it's generally more socially acceptable to use a male name for a girl than a traditionally female name for a boy, and names with the 'a' ending tend to sound quite feminine (to English speakers) anyway.

I think I'd prefer Esra for a girl personally, as it's prettier IMO and less likely to lead to misunderstandings. Some of the sneery comments here are a bit unnecessary though...
