DP wanting to cut the grass?

Probably yes but he's not doing it!

DP is just finishing his last nightshift of 3. He doesn't go to bed after his last nightshift, his choice as he then can't sleep at night.

I have been suffering horrendously with my hayfever over past few weeks, had about 9 hours sleep over 4 days.

I cheekily said to DP on phone earlier "oh I might go back to bed when you get home", he said "no I was going to cut the grass, you'll need to keep an eye on DCs"....what????

Admittedly our garden is like a jungle as its not been dry when he's been off for so long, but absolutely no way is he cutting the grass!!! If he had said paint the house, wash the cars, decorate the living room, fine, but cut the grass?? he's off for the next 3 days when dc's and I are at work/nursery.

Do you think he's trying to bump me off Wink

I should just point out that I wouldn't allow him to use machinery after his nightshifts anyway!

This year is terrible for pollen. Dh cut the grass yesterday and by the evening my eyes were red and sore Sad

An injection miss pants? Sounds interesting.

Well he's home and it's slightly spitting so he's decided against it, think he is too tired!

So I've gave him a roll and sausage and sent him to bed for a couple of hours.

It's never as bad abroad, maybe we should move :)

Plus the dds seem to quite like the jungle like grass! It's an adventure.

I actually enjoy gardening in the autumn/winter. Getting wrapped up and weeding etc!

Garden is bloody wasted on me in summer months!

the injection is Kenalog but it's not something that you can have too often

it does work though

You started an AIBU about cutting the grass. Flip me.

Cutting the grass/possible murder attempt, TBF.

YABU and a loon. DH is doing you a kindness. Let the grass get too long, the flower heads develop and grass pollen flies everywhere.

Our lawn is too much for me to do in one go. The guinea pigs do their bit but they can't get everywhere either. The grass is over a feet long in places and the DC have never had such bad hayfever.

Freshletticia · 16/07/2012 17:21

YABU.
Grass pollen causes hayfever. Cutting grass does not.
If you let the grass grow it will flower and then your hayfever will be 10 times worse.
Take some antihistamine and get on with it like the rest of us do.

valiumredhead · 16/07/2012 17:22

Cutting the grass does not cause hay fever? Ha ha ha ha ha ha no but it makes it 100x worse!

dexter73 · 16/07/2012 19:30

Cutting the grass makes me sneeze and itch like mad!

FadingAwayToAHippo · 16/07/2012 19:55

Ok just to clarify to everyone, this was tongue and cheek this morning.

Yes cutting the grass does make my hayfever much worse but regardless of if he had cut the grass today or does it tomorrow while I'm at work (which is the plan) I'd still be in the same state as now, swollen/streaming eyes and nose, big red cheeks and scabby sore lips. So now I'm in a foul mood. :(

Had he cut the grass today tonight's thread would have been

"aibu to think DP deliberately cut the grass to cause me so much pain and is trying to kill me"

Of course hes great and cutting the grass is to keep our house lovely and presentable and fit for dc's to play, he is not doing it to spite me, neither are our neighbours, nor the council (although I'm still undecided about the council). Doesn't make me feel any better!

Roll on the snow!
