DP is convinced it would be far too much work for me and has insisted I wait until he can drive me in the car, carry it and drive me back again.

AIBU to feel he's "babying" me a step to far?

I went to Ikea and bought a crib, and a full length mirror at about that stage. I did have the car. Of course, but I did have to lug the flat pack boxes onto the trolley and manhandle them into the car.

I think you'll be fine! Wink

Make the most of it, soon he wont give two seconds thought to you hauling a baby and buggy on the bus- and then you 'll wish you had taken the help!!

YANBU but agree with missmap you should make the most of it!

When i was 36 weeks I carried 2 yo dd, a huge rucksack of stuff plus a load of plants we'd bought round the local show whilst dp carried.... wait for it ... a helium balloon! Was a good 20 mins before he offered to help out, although tbf it hadn't occurred to me to ask.

TiddlesTheNaughtyTortoise · 14/07/2012 21:25

Meh. I'm Mum now. I carry stuff. All the stuff. Tis how it goes. Grin

YANBU
Trust me, by the time you are having your second or third child he will be asking you to do the decorating, mow the lawn and wash the car with a 30lb baby strapped to your back on your due date.

no I am not bitter, honest

CarefullyAirbrushedPotato · 14/07/2012 23:17

pat him on the head, and off to town to get your mattress .
Surely those things are so small you could virtually fit it in your handbag? I'm sure our was

He sounds lovely, at least he cares!

But of course you could done it by yourself...

I was one of the if you feel you can do it, go ahead and do it variety. But since having DS2 and now I have a slight prolapse, I would not want any of my pregnant friends lifting anything heavy, or doing anything high impact. Too much pressure on your pelvic floor and in the long run it is not worth it. I wish someone had explained it too me.

Hmm, a moses basket not too heavy, but it is an awkward shape, and if the bus is crowded...I would appreciate your DP caring and let him drive you.

(If he told you not to eat soft cheese I would tell him to fuck off though Grin )
