To find the first person reports from my 1 year old a bit weird?

The nursery my dd goes to is lovely but at the end of the day they hand parents a little report. It had information about what they have eaten and how they slept etc so very useful. However at the bottom of the report they write a paragraph as if written by my daughter saying things like 'I played on the cars, broom, broom!' or 'I had lots of fun on the slide weeeeee!' I find it a bit odd and end up asking about her day anyway.

Do other nurseries do this? I don't get it, it is an adult writing to another adult. I want to know how her day was not how well you can pretend to talk like a one year old or am I missing something?

It's twee, but harmless.

Also it doesn't upset me that much, I just find it odd and wondered if it happened in other nurseries.

I guess they are trying to convey warmth and care. I personally think it's unecessary

Can't stand it.

I wouldn't like that - give me simple, terse bullet points over twee any day.

It's weird actually, if you ask me.

At school they did something similar with me on reports where they would write in third person. I had a report that looked something like this:

*Altruistic decided to talk about some stressful things that were going on outside of school.
*Altruistic stated she was struggling with keeping up to date on her Math homework.
*Miss Fixit offered an alternative

etc etc... I know this is not exactly the same but the tone of it is also a little strange.

It's kinda cute but a bit too squee sometimes.
