Blush

I defy anyone not to say "Oh how awful" and then snigger anyway when being told that the road safety day at school has been cancelled because the woman that runs it was hit by a car.

She isnt seriously hurt but needs a couple of weeks off, and the teacher told the kids as a way of illustrating how even the safest people can have accidents.

I am a bad bad person.

Me and Ds have laughed for a good 3 mins. That's great in a bad way or should it be bad in a great way? Either way it's funny.

slowlyburningcalories · 11/07/2012 21:49

DH didn't even bother with the 'oh how awful' he just giggled

Flyingwithoutwings · 11/07/2012 22:24

Thank you, that's made a rotten day so much better Grin

My Dad worked with a bloke who knocked the works accident book off the light switch where it had been precariously balanced for 30 years - when he bent down to pick it up, he hit his head on the light switch causing a nasty cut (first time the accident book had been used, and it got named in the "cause of accident")

Vixxen · 11/07/2012 22:58

Ahahaha! That's hilariously ironic! Poor woman though, hope she makes a speedy recovery Wine

OlaRapaceFru · 12/07/2012 08:06

Oh dear - hope she's OK

Where I worked, years ago, the company invested in a shredder - it was in the very early days of shredders and nobody had even seen one, let alone used one, so the office manager had to give us all a brief training session on how it worked and the 'dos & don'ts' (IIRC they didn't really have any safety features in those days). As he bent over the machine to demonstrate, the end of his tie got caught in it - everybody was too busy falling about laughing as he got pulled closer and closer, fortunately some quick witted type grabbed a pair of scissors and snipped off his tie Grin

If she's off for two weeks, it's not just a minor incident.

YABU.

MammaTJ · 12/07/2012 08:19

poorbuthappy · 12/07/2012 08:22

I know someone who works for highways who fell in a pothole whilst crossing the road.
Oh the irony!!

BelieveInPink · 12/07/2012 09:30

I feel very virtuous because I didn't smirk until reading that she wasn't badly hurt.

helenthemadex · 12/07/2012 10:13
