None of my friends seem especially bothered and when I sobbed about it mentioned it to my DH, he helpfully said "He'll be leaving home soon". There's a leavers' assembly next week and I'm already in pieces. Please tell me I'm not alone and BU?

My youngest starts playgroup in September. It will be the first time in 9 years I've been at home on my own Sad Spose I better actually do some housework
When did my babies grow up

I'm quite wrung out about it too. DS and his mates did their yr 6 school play last week, and seeing them all up there together for the last time and looking so grown up sent me scrabbling for the tissues!

With DD having been there for a few years before him, it's been an 8 year relationship with the school. It's been a constant for us through divorce etc etc etc and while it's v exciting that he's got into a great school ... sigh ... it's def the closing of a chapter.

Oh ... and then Chris Moyles went and left the breakfast show on R1 today (we always have it on over breakfast before the school run) ... and I dissolved into a soggy heap at the end of all the era's coming at once!!
