I don't really care what you name your baby, but I have noticed an ever increasing number of frankly attention grabbing names around, when the mother of 2 boys, names them JimiHendrix (one word) and BobDylan (again, one word) then AIBU to think it's getting a bit ott!

It must be hard going through life with a name which others can't spell or pronounce or which gives no indication of whether it's a given name or a surname or male or female. Children Mason, Piper and Taylor?

Thunder and lightening ( twins one a girl one a boy!) Delatio (hmm theres a nick name coming on) and so many names spelt differently. my maiden surname was spelt in a different/not usual way and i got fed up to the back teeth of always having to say it then spell it immediately. This must get right on the nerves of kids if it is there first names. isnt it australia where they can refuse to register your child if the name isnt on their list or am i bonkers with hunger!

I had one colleague who's name looked back to front - he had a name that's normally a surname as his first name, which in itself isn't too bad - but his surname was a name that's normally a first name.

This isn't his actual name, but it was along the lines of Harrison James.

Very Confused at first, as I didn't know which way round was meant to be correct. But I bet he got called James Harrison a lot by mistake....

I was tickled pink to hear the story of the drummer Stuart Cable's (RIP) mum. Mabel is bad enough as a first name but when you go and marry Mr Cable..... Grin

I also have a child with a surname for a first name and I LOVE it.
