... And now I can't get the grass stains out. He's colour blind so he can't see how much damage he's done. Should i just get his credit card and buy two more ( plus a present for me while I'm at it?)

Lots of my others are from Dunelm! Their egyptian cotton ones. I bought them years ago - probably 10-12 years ago - and they wash brilliantly. They come up nice and fluffy after a tumble and also survive the odd 90 wash.

renaldo · 10/07/2012 15:42

blac towels are rank

SoleSource · 10/07/2012 15:45

I wash mine!

rshipstuff · 10/07/2012 15:48

The hydrocotton is £50 www.thewhitecompany.com/bathroom/towels/hydrocotton-towels/

Egyptian cotton is just passé

NarkedRaspberry · 10/07/2012 15:50

It would be. It lasts so well I haven't had to buy any towels in years Grin

bogeyface · 10/07/2012 16:32

I really dont get the big deal about these towels. When all is said and done they will be used for drying your bum on! I am always happy to pay for quality (yes, I do own LC pans :o) but I dont see anyway of justifying £45 for a towel, thats stupid money.

NicholasTeakozy · 10/07/2012 17:13

I did consider namechanging to start a thread:-

'My wife's doing her bongos because I wiped my golf clubs on a towel'

It's a towel for crying out loud. Apparently this blue towel is now grass stained. I can't see it myself, being colourblind.

I decided against it, I value my testicles too much! :o

squeakytoy · 10/07/2012 17:17

arent towels meant to get stained.. it is hardly "ruined".. it is still a towel, it will still work.. .Grin

Ample · 10/07/2012 17:30

Well towels are meant to get dirty (and washed) so yabu to replace them. Perhaps the stain will come out in a hot and pretreated wash?

I wouldn't buy towels at White Company. I wouldn't buy towels at Primark or Asda either.
Hope the stain comes out Teamum.

diddl · 10/07/2012 17:41

But why would anyone wipe mucky golf clubs on a decent towel?

Was there really nothing else available?

Towels don´t really get dirty though, do they as they are generally used for drying clean bodies!

NarkedRaspberry · 10/07/2012 17:43

arent towels meant to get stained

No Confused. What do you use them for to get them stained?

Nanny0gg · 10/07/2012 17:48

If people's towels are stained/dirty I would suggest they haven't spent enough time washing.

And TWC towels are really nice and if given as a present, it's a really nice thought.

paradisechick · 10/07/2012 17:55

I got two bales of towels of bid tv when I bought my first house 7 years ago, about £30 for each set. There were 4 hand 2 bath and 2 sheets in each set. They're still going strong! A few of the white ones are a bit grey but that's my own fault!

firemansamisnormansdad · 10/07/2012 19:17

Squeakytoy: are you a rabbit? And do you vibrate? Cos you're being a bit of a dildo on here.

Inertia · 11/07/2012 08:12

The key point here is not where the towels were bought, it's the thoughtlessness of the husband. Most households have old towels or cloths to use for cleaning jobs ; he couldn't be bothered to find one. Having then made a real mess of the towel, he made no attempt to clean it himself - he left it for OP to clean up. OP is not the laundry maid.

Cuddler · 11/07/2012 11:40

I only buy white towels,i think i would rather be able to see if they needed washing, buying brown or black just so they look cleaner is pretty dirty.

TandB · 11/07/2012 12:23

Matalan do a surprisingly nice, fluffy towel.

And I got 2 White Company blankets for a pound at the local NCT sale. [irrelevant but smug emoticon]

Teamumizumi · 11/07/2012 13:35

Thanks for your comments: some nice, some not. You know who you are.

I always had white towels but they're high maintenance. I got fed up after years.

vintagewarrior · 11/07/2012 18:11

I mean this in the nicest possible way. . Get a grip woman, Its a towel!

balotelli · 11/07/2012 19:17

Its a TOWEL!

Get over it.

No one died.

If he cant see green, how does he manage playing Golf? Dont you have to hit the ball towards the GREEN? Does he just hit it anywhere then claims its the green?

bogeyface · 11/07/2012 20:15

The Green has a different texture and has a flag. You lot are thick as well as being discriminatory. What is this thread turning into? Class war? F off back to Aldi.
