Being thrown out of Brownies isn't something to be proud of

Watching Who wants to be a Millionaire on ITV +1 and contestant has just said whe was thrown out of the Brownies. I hear this often on TV by minor celebrities and it really annoys me.
There got that off my chest.

Oh Christ I see someone just mentioned Woodcraft Folk.... I had suppressed that particular memory.

Very, very "woo", run by an ageing hippie, forest-green shirts and all sorts of weirdness.

My brother and I used to hide behind the crash mats to get out of the activities...

I was thrown out of guides......but that was because i was too old and didn't want to leave or become a ranger!

i loved guides. used to get campsick when i got home!
i was however kicked out of synchronised swimming. because i couldnt wiggle my hands right (skulling i think) and kept sinking to the bottom...

I've been involved in Guiding all my life and have run a number of Brownie units. I was also young leader guider for my County for a while, which involved

... periodically visiting other units - and I have only ever heard of one instance of a child being asked to leave Brownies. It was a child who kept running off site.

I'm constantly told by people that they got thrown out of Brownies. I think most are exaggerating.

I am with Sarcalogos and seeker all the way on this. We volunteer, we don't get paid, and we just want to see the kids have a good time and get something out of their experience in guiding/scouting.

bubbub I think I am a bit camp sick right now! I haven't been on camp for 4 years! [shock!]
