Ds has just came in with 2 other boys. They've been playing in the field building dens. They're proper grubby and I think it looks fab! It's nice to see kids with evidence of a good mornings playing on them!

I reckon my 14mth DS could get grubby in a sterile room, if 'grubbiness' was an Olympic sport, he'd be a contender! We did a 'Smash a cake' photo session for his 1st birthday (think there's a photo on my profile....) and he knew what to do without any prompting or posing into a position.

For me there's a time and a place for mess.

I get wound up if they try and get messy on the way to school / nursery, I just want them to start the day presentable. But once they're there they it's in the lap of the Gods.

They also have a pile of old, scruffy, slighty stained clothes that they wear for playing in the garden so they can do what they want with them. And they were rolling down a hill the other day, I just kept an eye out for dog poo.

If we are going out for Italian they I generally put them in pink / red tops so the bolognese sauce doesn't stain and I don't gets stressy while we eat.
