He got out with some friends tonight - which is fine.

A friend of ours was burgled this afternoon whole they were in the house which is scary and making me more than nervous.

Cretin of a DH has gone out without his keys. I rand him at midnight as I was going to bed. He told me to leave the door open for him, as he'd be home in half an hour.

I've just woken up and he's not back. He's not answering his phone.

I know he's only at a friend's house a few
hundred yards away.

I'm cross that
a) he hasn't taken his keys and expects me to leave the front foot unlocked when I'm alone in the house with 2 small children
b) he is not home by the time he said
c) he is not answering phone and could be lying in a gutter somewhere on the way home.

Now I can't sleep. Selfish arse.

Lock the door, go to bed and dont answer the door before 8am.

Make it clear that this will happen every time he goes out. Him not having his keys is his problem and not yours, so he should suffer the consequences and take the associated risks.

bogeyface · 07/07/2012 02:46

But do text him that you are locking up, that way you are still in the right as you told him what you are doing.

"Locking up in 10 minutes, if you are not here then I will unlock the door when I get up at X am."

I'm going to enjoy tomorrow Angry [evil face]

Let the smoking go, ex smokers having a fag when they are pissed is par for the course.

But I would be encouraging the kids to "go and see daddy" at 6am Wink

AdoraBell · 07/07/2012 05:32

YY send the DCs in to wake Daddy to play as early as possible.

MammaTJ · 07/07/2012 06:47

I am waiting for an update about how loud and annoying your DCs manage to be this morning!! Grin

scrambledlegs · 07/07/2012 13:40

DH suitably repentant. Hung all the washing up and tidied the kitchen while I was out.

That'll teach you to take the tag off.

WorraLiberty · 07/07/2012 14:08

I imagined a dog getting out through a broken fence or something Grin

How does doing something like hanging the washing out cancel out twattish behaviour? Please tell me that is not because doing the washing is YOUR job and he was doing you a favour!

WorraLiberty · 07/07/2012 14:49

Perhaps it was the OP's turn to hang the washing out and tidy the kitchen?

It's my turn to DS3 to football practice today and stand in the pouring rain for 3 hours but my DH has kindly offered to do it for the second week in a row Grin

doggiemumma · 07/07/2012 14:50

Yeah, that'l be what is is Worra!!

WorraLiberty · 07/07/2012 14:52

It's possible

I'm still feeling smug as I hear the rain lashing against the conservatory roof Grin Blush

scrambledlegs · 07/07/2012 19:17

To be fair to him, Saturday morning is usually 'his' morning to do as he pleases (I have Sundays).

And he has admitted his behaviour was twattish.
