My ds1 used to sing "are you ready, are you ready for lunch." instead of Are you ready for love by Elton John.

My db (when he was little) used to sing "guilty as a cook-a-bill" instead of "guilty as a girl can be by .

My other db sang his own version of a west life song and had us in stitches. I can't remember which song it was or his version but it was fair funny.

I always thought prefab sprouts song went "hotdog jumping frog I love cookies" then df went to college where Martin from prefab sprout was his tutor and I was told by df it was actually "hotdog jumping frog Albuquerque"

Well I thought it was "hotdog jumping frog ALL GONE cookies!" Live and learn eh?!

maudpringle · 07/07/2012 20:23

Deathcab, I know of someone else who thought that too!
Maybe you are one and the same?

workhouse · 07/07/2012 20:34

My Mum used to sing, from Terry Wogan I think..."every time you go away, you take a piece of meat with you" by Paul Young.

FutTheShuckUp · 07/07/2012 20:42

Someone I know thought UB40's one in ten went 'I am the one inch head'

DeathCab · 07/07/2012 20:43

Oh i'm glad i'm not the only one! Maybe Maud.. maybe Wink!

ApolloSmintheus · 07/07/2012 21:04

"Pappadom Peach, I'm in trouble deep" was what I used to hear. I guess you would be if that arrived as a starter in your local curry house...

jendot · 07/07/2012 21:14

My sis used to sing in the lord of the dance 'I am the lord of the dance settee ' instead of I am the lord of the dance said he!! Lol
Outing myself here Blush

dementedma · 07/07/2012 22:29

Adeles "set fire to the rain" will always be "set fire to Lorraine" in this house

PiggyPlumPie · 07/07/2012 22:51

And in this house, Will Young always sings "I think I'd better deep fry now" - much better than "Leave Right Now" I think.

UserNameNotAvailable · 07/07/2012 23:36

Got a couple more, years ago watching the royal variety show a comedian changed the words from "my heart will go on" (celine dion, titanic song) to "the hotdogs go on"

Most recently cold play's song paradise is now sang "pair of, pair of, pair of tights"

SleeplessinBournville · 08/07/2012 21:04

Some of these are classic. While we're on Karma Chameleon, my wife used to think "Lovin' would be easy if your colours were like my dreams, red gold and green...' was "... red coat and jeans."

SleeplessinBournville · 08/07/2012 21:05

Sorry - I mean 'dw'.

kinkyfuckery · 08/07/2012 21:09

This thread is hilarious, thank you

SuddenlyMadameGlamour · 08/07/2012 21:12

My mum used to think it said "and you come to me on a submarine" in "how deep is your love" Grin

SuddenlyMadameGlamour · 08/07/2012 21:15

I used to think it said "he's got a 5 inch cock" in that tracey chapman song, it actually says "he's got a fast car". Listen to it and you'll hear what I mean!

theressomethingaboutmarie · 08/07/2012 21:35

DH and I always sing the following to the Cars "Drive": who's gonna drive you home (pause) pork pie. Listen to the song, it really sounds like that!

StellaNova · 08/07/2012 21:48

Reading "Charleeeene don't like it" - I was smugly thinking "Ah, very funny, but of course I know the true lyrics - only to find out 5 seconds later that they are not, in fact "Sharif don't like it" - as in Omar Sharif. Blush
