Last night I had a shouting match with ds1 productive exchange of views and after he had been sent upstairs to reconsider his attitude, behaviour etc I received a hand written apology note which included a few swear words. These were all spelt correctly as opposed to the rest of the note which had phonetic spellings. Grin He is dyslexic btw.

My brother is dyslexic and he used to write a certain word all the time around the house. Mum didn't think she could tell him off because it was the first word he spelt correctly on his own!

I feel like I need to read the note now. My brothers nearly 18 but used to write funny notes all the time as he got more confident

WorraLiberty · 06/07/2012 20:40

What did it say?

Dear Motherfucker,

I'm sorry I pissed you off but you were acting like a twat.

I will try to watch my fucking language and behaviour in future.

Love,

Mini Pick

Thank you for your letter WorraLiberty. Sad to say it wasn't as creative as your offering but there were plenty of 'fucks' in it iukwim Wink

I'd definitely be looking at the positive side of things - not only accurate spelling but an apology too. Result - yes?

But I am the woman whose pride at the fact that ds could utter multiple syllables at age 2 was slightly marred by those syllables being git-tee-twa-t (picked up in park, I hasten to add).

KittyFane1 · 06/07/2012 21:50

Nope. Not a proud moment IMHO.

PickandMixisthefuture · 08/07/2012 09:49

Could be worse KittyFane1. At least he doesn't say words like that very often, and certainly only behind closed doors, thank goodness! If he was saying them in public I would be more inclined to share your opinion. Let's look on the bright side here - he hasn't progressed to pulling the wings off insects or anything else more dysfunctional. Grin

I don't understand. Why was he swearing in a note of apology? Why was he using language like that to his mother? The fact he's dyslexic has nothing to do with anything. It's disrespectful and you seem to be making light of it.
