I LOVE FB - but seriously why do people feel the need to do this?

EVERY FUCKING YEAR.

What's wrong with them - can't stand competitive parenting and this is it at its worst - IMO.

Why can't they just share it with family?!

Have the urge to write passive aggressive comments on them all Hmm

Ok I am just a bitter twisted bitch maybe - yes I think I am :)

I must admit I put a comment on FB from boy 1's report because it made me smile - BUT it wasn't on my status, it was in a birthclub type group where we don't mind a bit of stealth boasting about our children.

Or even obvious boasting.

I posted that my ds had got an A for practice and effort from his music school- because I thought it was really funny- he practices once a week if pinned to the music stand, and I though it was an A in an "all shall have prizes" kind of wqy. Turns out it wasn't. And i got lots of quite ...terse......comments.......!

ZombieBear · 06/07/2012 22:14

seeker, I would find that funny.

pigletmania · 06/07/2012 22:20

Oh yes the wine Grin

Unfortunately the mothers whose children got Bs and Cs didn't.heaven alone knows how little their children must have done- if pushed, ds could recognise a trumpet from an array of stringed instruments..........

My dds got fantastic reports today, i am so chuffed with them.

I didn't put it on FB as not really my thing, i have a few friends that have though and i think it's lovely. People are proud of their dcs achievements, and why not.

MrsCampbellBlack · 06/07/2012 22:45

I'm proud of my children as long as they try hard but there is no way on this earth I would ever put on facebook anything about their academic achievements.

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 06/07/2012 22:46

My ds got a brilliant badge in nursery because he went a whole day without biting someone, should I boast??

LucieMay · 06/07/2012 22:49

I don't care how clever my DS is or isn't (he's no gifted child), but I will post about his achievements to facebook (sport related, behaviour etc). He has members of his paternal extended family that he doesn't see very much on there and they like to keep abreast of what he's up to and how's doing. And it's mainly because i'm just so proud of my little chap despite his dad being a knobhead who does stuff that cause him more misery than a six year should I have to endure. He hasn't seen his dad since he was a baby and I feel even more proud of whatever he achieves, given those circumstances because he's such a lovely and well behaved little boy who has it a lot harder than a lot of other kids.

whospickleisthatonion THAT'S the type of boasting we need more of :)
