50 shades baby boom... really?!?

Not read it. Just did a search on here for the book and most threads seem to be laughing at it rather than raving.

Surly this single book isn't going to be responsible for a baby boom though. For a start, not enough people have read it. I hadn't even heard of it. Secondly, if its going to make you a bit frisky then I'm sure we all understand how to have sex without making a baby.

Twoddle. Right?

well iif butt plugs, spreader bars, whips and chains are vanilla, I've led a mroe sheltered life than I thought. Hmm

bringmesunshine2009 · 04/07/2012 21:15

With all that foil ripping, I'd be surprised!

carernotasaint · 04/07/2012 21:37

I wont be reading it either. I read quite a few of the Black Lace books in the 1990s/early "00s. so Fifty Shades aint gonna do it for me either.
Even our local paper has run a bloody article on this. According to them our local WH Smith sold out of their 37 copies of Fifty Shades Darker the same morning they were delivered. WHY?!

ImpatientOne · 04/07/2012 21:47

My DH has downloaded it to my Kindle and is reading it right now as 'everyone' at work was talking about it! Hmm

I'm Angry as I was stubbornly refusing to get swept up in it all and I was planning on finishing my book on my Kindle tonight!!

diddl · 04/07/2012 21:49

It´s not free on Kindle, is it?

GetOrfMoiiLand · 04/07/2012 21:50

Christ nobody at my work has talked about it, thank god.

I am not on FB so haven't seen any raving there. I don't know anyone in RL who has read it.

ImpatientOne · 04/07/2012 22:25

Not sure diddl but the legality of downloading 'free' stuff is something my DH and I continually disagree about... another reason I am Angry about it!

Marymaryalittlecontrary · 04/07/2012 23:06

My sister, who I always thought was normal and not attention seeking, was actually talking about it on Facebook the other day! And one of my friends on there mentions it all the time!

Anyway, I am TTC and really hope that if I do get pregnant people don't think it's anything to do with that bloody book!

valiumredhead · 05/07/2012 13:15

It was free for ages, not now.

TheDancingPilchard · 05/07/2012 14:17

it was ridiculous. funny and desperately unsexy. if it takes badly written dysfunctional relationships, stalkers and cringey inner dialogue to get you rocking then you have big problems imo.

that said, I did enjoy the books. in the same way I enjoyed twilight and the louise bagshawe books.

simperingsally · 05/07/2012 18:43

I hadn't heard of it until 2 weeks ago. None of my friends on FB rite about it and none of my friends have spoken about it.

muminthecity · 05/07/2012 19:34

I read it, it was 50 shades of shite. Creepy abusive weirdo stalks and beats up young virgin with some sort of disorder which causes her to gasp out loud anytime anyone glances her way, and bite her lip constantly. The sex scenes were either boring or creepy, I didn't like any of them.
