Yes. He is a walking squeaking rattling dildo.

I thank the heavens dd isnt old enough or seen enough of them to remember and ask for it.

I really like PPig and she laughs to that so think ill ban ITNG from our tv. I remeber Charlie and his bucket of dinosaurs from when my nephew was little, is that still around?

The pontipines are terrible parents and always lose their kids

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 03/07/2012 19:52

They eat cakes and give the kids grogg.

HumphreyCobbler · 03/07/2012 19:53

But the children love it. It is very well aimed at toddlers. So possibly not the ideal viewing for their parents Grin

Sparklingbrook · 03/07/2012 19:54

Do the Wottingers not like the Pontipines, they sound like the Neighbours from Hell.

TheMysteryCat · 03/07/2012 19:59

I think the Wattingers send all their kids to Boarding schools, whilst the Pontipines are Home Educating... neither seem to do a very good job and are forever losing their children and running underneath dangerous objects, mostly enormous bouncy balls.

there is a very terrifying episode where Iggle Piggle has lost his blanket and Mr Pontipine spends the whole programme shouting at him down the Troubliphone like some deranged character from Hale and Pace.

That and the weird Tardis-like accommodation filled with drums that the Tombliboos live in.

DS adores it. I am quite, quite scared of it, including that odd, farting zeppelin.

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 03/07/2012 20:01

They get on very well, they arrange a picnic occasionally but the wottingers always seem to get lost or miss the scarey train.

QueenKong · 03/07/2012 20:01

The Wottingers and the Pontipines both seem to spend a lot of time pretending they're not in when the other family knocks on their door. It's a very passive aggressive relationship.

Sparklingbrook · 03/07/2012 20:02

Sounds like they should have their own spin off series. Grin

MrsTerryPratchett · 03/07/2012 20:03

DD likes ITNG and Yo Gabba Gabba. She is going to be a serial killer, isn't she?

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 03/07/2012 20:04

Oh yes! There is a bit of that!

NimpyWindowMash · 03/07/2012 20:04

YABVU - I love ITNG.
DH gets very upset about the proportions - the ninky nonk looks too small, smaller than the characters, but they still all manage to get on.

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 03/07/2012 20:05

What channel is yo gabba gabba on? My friends boy loves it. I need a break from these passive aggressive tree dwellers.

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 03/07/2012 20:05

Bloody hell nimpy mine too. Bangs on about it every episode until I kick him.

TodaysAGoodDay · 03/07/2012 20:06

It's always the same bloody story, go for a ride, clean faces, play with the ball, sing the same bloody songs, go for a ride, clean faces, play with the...hang on, haven't we been here before? Load of utter shite.

Pascha · 03/07/2012 20:06

DH is of the opinion the Derek Jacobi is off his face on something. Can't imagine any other way he could do it without pissing himself laughing. Having said that, its grown on me and DS is really quite attached to saying night night to each of them in turn at the end.

MrsTerryPratchett · 03/07/2012 20:16

In not in the UK so I don't know what channel it is on the the UK. You could always download it buy the DVDs.

Summersend · 03/07/2012 21:06

I adored it when DC were young - the music signalled to my brain that it's one hour to wine o'clock Grin

Psammead · 03/07/2012 21:10

I totally get ITNG. I quite enjoy it.

tickleme63 · 12/07/2012 10:56

I love In the Night Garden Blush The music is lovely, especially when they all dance, or when a character walks across the light-up bridge... And Derek Jacobi's narrating just makes me so happy - it's like everything is right with the world... :)

NotGeoffVader · 12/07/2012 11:06

DD loves ITNG. I loathe it with a passion and would happily bang my head on the table for the duration.

dawntigga · 12/07/2012 11:11

It's a recovery centre for many things.

Makka Pakka is, in fact, very tiny but has mysophobia and what you see is his protective suit. He cleans things because of this.

The Tombliboo's are flashers and are there under court order.

Igglepiggle is a smurf with elephantiasis and is undergoing a new treatment that wouldn't be allowed in the UK.

Upsy Daisy is a recovering nymphomaniac who's seeing Dr Drew.

Pinkyponk is driven by a major pot head who's trying to get clean.

The NinkyNonk is driven by a blind gnome who's trying to get back her licence.

The Pontipines are actually cannibals who once wore white clothes but they are now stained with the blood of their victims. Due to a mix up with paper work the producers didn't actually know when they were put in and they ate the Wottingers, to cover this up the producers use stock shots of them and this is why the are rarely in the program or seen with a Wottinger. The Wottingers are now kept under careful observation.
