Long one I'm afraid....

Basically, DH and I have moved to a 3 bed house set back from a fairly busy main road. I live in Edinburgh and my "friend" lives in Cambridge and she pretty much told me that if I took my 2 cats to the new house near the main road she'd never speak to me again. Also said "she'd never move somewhere like that"..... she has now not spoken to me for around 2 months.

I am big enough and ugly enough to make my own decisions, surely she has no right to tell me what to do when she hasn't been to the new house and knows nothing about it apart from it being on a main road.

Is this woman just being a total snobby douche bag or AIBU?

She is BVU. It's up to you where you live, and whether you have pets or not. Just move, take your cats and let them out the back. Bear in mind that night are worst for road accidents, fox attacks etc, so try and keep them in at night if you can. Good luck.

Are you sure Edinburgh is far enough?

I think you need a large body of water between you just to be on the safe side,

Do you have a photo of her,just to cover yourself,until you move, I would put up posters all over Edinburgh, her picture with "this english woman is the reason you don't have your freedom", it should slower her down if she decides to visit.

Did you move to the new house from one close to where she lives? In other words, has she lost her best mate (again, is she 12 ) and is playing up because of it? Or is she just a nosey cow control freak?
