To be stupidly emotional about birthdays?

My beautiful twins are coming up another birthday. I can't stop myself from sobbing at the relentless passing of time. Am I being weird?

Are they 7?

People get very weird over their child's seventh birthday.

Maybe a tiny bit weird but also quite understandable. Smile

I cry at my kids birthdays but mainly it's due to the cost of the presents and having to entertain a small army of other peoples children for 2.5 hours

Herrena · 29/06/2012 22:45

I get stupidly emotional about having to share them with people (i.e. I want company) but that's about it!

Maybe try to think of them as being that little bit closer to becoming the kind of adults you'd like to meet in the world....

Disclaimer: my DS is only 1 so I haven't really had to consider this yet :)

My ds1 was 16 last wk and i felt Sad esp as he left school the same week so everything was changing

I always go over the top with each of my 3 DC birthdays, because I am really celebrating the time we have shared together, I usually spend a lot of the day gawping at them with my head on one side all misty eyed. I don't feel sad about the passing of time, but I will know you have planted the seed in my daft head Grin

Oh god, the relentless passing of time.

I can't go there.
