it tastes better?

Mine have Science Plan 7+ complete - as advised by our vet - they are well and healthy

Lovethesea · 26/11/2012 16:20

some like it to be moving water

Lovethesea · 26/11/2012 16:21

Mine eats a mix of wet and dry food, though he prefers the wet.

Also eats his own selection of small birds, pigeons, mice, shrew, frogs, and who knows what else.

Watching him eat something bones, skin and all and leave only an entrail is an education, though one we are encouraging him to pursue outside ....

gordyslovesheep · 26/11/2012 16:22

opps no it's Purina Pro Plan not science plan!

My cat is on Iams.
Any other food gives her a runny bum...ew.
I wish she would eat more meaty things.

However, she skilfully suplements her diet with moths. She also never drinks from her bowl but prefers to drink the rancid rain water collected in the trike outside Confused

You can spend more on feeding your cat than many people spend on their kids. Most cats live a long healthy life on supermarket food and kids apparently thrive on junk, so stop worrying.
I'm waiting for special food for 3 year olds with red hair or for tall teenagers or short middleaged women with varicose veins. How many of us eat an ideal diet? Cats, dogs and kids all manage well on less than ideal.

Bunnygotwhacked · 26/11/2012 20:30

our cat is on royal canine sterilised appetite control as he has a tendency to be a bit of a fatty. He is now drinking from his bowl since he has been on this only the last month or so he occasionaly has some cold chicken or a tin of tuna or one of those gourmet wet pouches he seems healthy enough and his fur is soft and shiny he is 4 i think

Mine is on Hill's Science Plan Senior. She was on Senior Light when she was in the Blue Cross before we got her as she eats her feelings and got little to no exercise while in the rescue centre, but we had to put her on the higher calorie stuff as she lost all her chub running about outside after coming to us! Not that she does a lot of running now, being 15, but she seems very happy on Hill's.

My cat is 11yrs and will only eat Go Cat,I fool him now and again by mixing a small amount of cheaper (shops own brand) but it's too much hassle so I stick to Go Cat.Don't know if I'm doing wrong but he has tinned felix the only brand he'll eat (small amount) and Go Cat(small amount)on a daily basis

uggmum · 16/12/2012 07:14

My cat (Rupert) is 19. He eats 3 sachets of wet food per day. He is fussy. He will not eat the same brand of cat food for more than a week. I buy 3 different brands each week and rotate them for each meal.

If I don't do this he goes on hunger strike. He refuses to eat anything. He will stroll over to the bowl, smell it and stalk off.

He hates dried food. He is a big cat and looks half his age.

TrazzleMISTLEtoes · 16/12/2012 07:17

Adverse no, please don't give your cat cow's milk.

QODRestYeMerryGentlemen · 16/12/2012 07:25

Explain trazzle? Please :o and thank you

TrazzleMISTLEtoes · 16/12/2012 08:08

I was under the impression that some cats can be lactose intolerant and it can cause upset stomachs and diarrhoea. Even if this isn't a problem for adverse 's cat now, I was told it can cause problems later in life and, since they don't need cow's milk, it is better to just avoid it completely.

No doubt someone will come along and tell me exactly how wrong I am in approximately 40 seconds...

WelshMaenad · 16/12/2012 10:03

You are completely right trazzle!
