Are 4D scans ugly?

Every time I see a friend's 4D scan of their baby I just feel slightly repulsed by it. They look like little bumpy bronze statues and because its a 'still' they don't even look alive. I don't why people don't just wait til the baby's born to see it.

They freak me out big time. Plus I think they're unrealistic as they depict wee chubby cheeked babies when at 20+ weeks gestation they don't have an ounce of fat on them.

I dislike them, but I guess if your previous pgs have ended badly then they give people reassurance.

Otherwise, kind of unnecessary.

I've been having issues with AND in this pregnancy and it's actually really helped me feel more attached to the baby and more positive about things. So I don't really care if other people find them unnecessary, I'm just enjoying feeling good about things for the first time in ages.

I personally don't like them, but am always polite enought to say 'ahh, how cute' when shown them by friends.

I expect people to enthuse over my grainy B&W scan photos, so am prepared to return the favour!

(I do think they make the babies look a bit like lumpy potato people though)

I agree with you and also it annoys me when people say they won't be finding out the sex "because we want a surprise" and then get 3D scans done!

I had one for DS and he looked like he'd been fathered by Mr Burns from the Simpsons

He looked NOTHING like that when he was born, thank god.

They don't really bother me and I can understand why people have them done, but they all look alike to me!! I'm convinced they just have a job lot of pictures and print the same ones out

My baby looked beautiful sigh. I looked at that photo every day until she was born!

And she looked exactly the same!
