Stop playing Status Quo and Phil Collins - arghhh!

OP posts:

But I liked Alan and Mel's fits of giggles. They made me smile. Much better than Liza.

keepmoving · 25/06/2012 20:57

Dislike Steve Wright and loathe Chris Tarrant (and RM) so happy to hear Radcliffe and Marconie are on 6, will retune when at home. Sadly not much choice in the car.

ViviPru · 25/06/2012 20:59

I loved Alan and Mel too. Perfect for long car rides to see friends on a Saturday evening. Liza's ok. It's not the same tho :(

ImperialBlether · 25/06/2012 21:03

Given Johnnie Walker's virtually retired, I'd like Stuart Maconie in Chris Evans' slot and Graham Norton for driving home.

Tressy · 25/06/2012 21:11

Does anyone think it's disgraceful that one of Steve Wrights possie (sp) is on because she is the voice of the elderly and called 'Old Woman'.

Mintyy · 25/06/2012 21:15

The only people I can stomach on Radio 2 are Chris Evans, Ken Bruce, Zoe Ball - wish she was on more often - Simon Mayo and Paul O'Grady.

At all other times, stick Radio 4 or Radio 5 on. And relax. And breathe.

ReportMeNow · 25/06/2012 21:16

Chris Tarrant's attitude to any woman on that show is foul.

WhyTheBigPaws · 25/06/2012 21:29

I love it when Zoe Ball sits in for Ken Bruce, she sounds like such a nice person and is about my age so what she says always strikes a chord eg when she talks about her kids - AAA passes to festivals, DJ husband and posh pad in Brighton not so much!.

I like Ken Bruce's show (love Popmaster!) but he really grates on me so I usually switch off after Chris Evans. I used to listen to Jeremy Vine but have gone right off him - most of what he debates is either boring or predictable in that you can tell exactly what sort of idiots will phone in and what the 'experts' will say to them. Can't stand Steve Wright or any of the people who sit in for him but I do like Simon Mayo, he's just easy to listen to and the show is quite funny. Especially love All Request Friday, always gets me in the mood for the weekend. Don't listen much at the weekend but sometimes hear Graham Norton on a Saturday morning, he's excellent.

Can't believe what a sad Radio 2 geek I have become in my old age Blush

ladymariner · 25/06/2012 21:37

Love chris Evans, Simon mayo and graham Morton, but tarrant makes me feel physically sick, absolutely loathe him.

Kennyp · 25/06/2012 21:44

I am completely off radio 2. I miss michael ball and find graham norton a bit odd on the radio, but i love his tv thing.

I am dave berry/lisa snowdon only now. Sigh.

ronx · 25/06/2012 21:52

How anyone can listen to Elaine Paige is beyond me. As soon as I hear her silly giggle I switch the radio off.

Mintyy · 25/06/2012 22:27

Elaine Page is infinitely more tolerable than Barbara Windsor!

I would like to know if there is a single person on this godforsaken planet of ours who can listen to more than 30 seconds of Dermot O'Leary?

And/or 15 seconds of Janice Long?

wizzler · 25/06/2012 22:32

Radio 2 is ok until 2pm.. I cannot BEAR Steve Wright..... After 2pm, its Radio 4 or Radio 5 or Radio anything tbh

Tigresswoods · 25/06/2012 22:34

Steve Wright takes more holidays than Judith Charmers.

Seriously someone needs to put a broom through Radio 2. Thankfully the revision has started withChris Evans. For me Ken & Steve can't go fast enough.

HipHopOpotomus · 25/06/2012 23:06

YANBU.
I nearly lost the plot when LEEza Tarbuck filled in for Simon Mayo Angry

Mintyy · 25/06/2012 23:07

All half terms and bank holidays are impossible on Radio 2.

They get all the numptys in (apart from Zoe, of course).

Shakey1500 · 25/06/2012 23:14

YANBU. Chris Tarrants voice annoys the hell out of me, as does Steve Wrights. So Radio2 loses me after Jeremy Vine.

I adore Ken Bruce and marvel how he can present an entire show talking about nothing in particular.

Graham Norton is fab :)

As for Elaine Paige...words fail me but I love the musicals. It's not better with "I titter a lot" Babs and even worse with Michael Balls.

I worry for my (future) child free Sundays where I shall languish in bed with the papers, I panic over which presenter I'll be lumbered with Wink

Shakey1500 · 25/06/2012 23:15

And I miss Sarah Kennedy :(

HipHopOpotomus · 25/06/2012 23:35

Not that I'm a big Simon Mayo fan, but Tarbuck and her tittering are diabolical.

CointreauVersial · 25/06/2012 23:41

Desmond Carrington, anyone?

OlympicRingSting · 25/06/2012 23:44

I love Desmond! A friend of mine in Spain, and another in York, all try to listen on a Friday, whilst having a conference chat on Facebook, to guess the stuff he may pay within his theme. He does stretch it sometimes :-)

CointreauVersial · 26/06/2012 00:00

Grin "from my home in Perthshire, Scotland."

Lazydaisy55 · 26/06/2012 00:14

I can't stand Richard Madely, of all the talented people who could do with a break and he is chosen, why??????????

ouryve · 26/06/2012 00:21

Chris Tarrant is marginally less irritating than Steve Wright and at elast doesn't do the flaming horoscopes.

Can't stand Liza Tarbuck. She's so rude to people who call in. Saturday teatimes improved when Mel Sykes and Alan Carr stopped their cacking, but they're back to intolerable.

Saturday evenings and Sundays, I turn over to Abolute Classic Rock or 80s (until the ads bug the shit out of me)

NunOnTheRun · 26/06/2012 00:53

Chris Tarrant, Richard Madeley and Simon Mayo... who ??? Confused. ... Now for:... You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet by Bachman?Turner Overdrive .
