To actually enjoy playing in soft play centres when I'm over 30?

With my 2 year old, there were quite a few other parents who seemed to be having a whale of a time too... I don't think I'm alone :)

YANBU - I've often thought there's a market for grown-up soft play centres and am quite tempted to barge small children out of my way to crawl through some tunnel or go down a slide. Was going to say adult soft play but that's a whole other thing...!

YABU

The last time I took DS, he declared he didn't like it secretly proud

EclecticShock · 23/06/2012 20:06

My ds used to dislike it... Thank god, he's seen the light, I might look a bit strange playing by myself :)

I've been considering trying to get in his little tike, but I haven't taught him how to dial 999 yet.

LOL, a friend and I were talking about this the other day while climbing around with our two year olds. She thought there might be a market for keep fit sessions for adults at soft play centres!!
I quite like it, though every now and then I want to sit down, e.g after DS says "again" for about the 30th time and I have to climb yet again through various small steps and obstacles in order to get to the slide again. Maybe it's just our soft play - it feels like I have to fold myself in half to get through some of it!!

EclecticShock · 23/06/2012 20:08

I'm pretty short, I think it gives me an advantage.

I enjoy drinking coffee at soft play whilst the little darlings go off and entertain themselves for an hour or so Smile

germyrabbit · 23/06/2012 20:11

i've worked in one and would happily never set foot inside one again! (especially when i've been round cleaning it Wink)

EclecticShock · 23/06/2012 20:14

Germy, to be fair, I wasn't sure if I might vomit after the tenth spiral slide.

Some of them will do private parties for grown ups if you ask...

EclecticShock · 23/06/2012 20:17

Lol, I know where to have my dps surprise birthday party now :)

YANBU I used to love it and I was 34 :)

buggyRunner · 23/06/2012 20:23

Omg I actually said the same thing to dp! I think if gyms were as much fun there would be no obesity epidemic!!

The only thing I don't like is parents ignoring their little shits who go in the toddler/ baby sections and turn violent/ too rough etc

EclecticShock · 23/06/2012 20:24

I might be a bit closer to 34 than 30. Prime age for rope bridges, I reckon.

I make sure I've got leggings on instead of jeans so I go faster down the slide, and I'm over 30! My Dad, coming up to 60, bloody loves them! Xxx

EclecticShock · 23/06/2012 20:32

I agree, they would be much more fun than the gym! They should do charity races for adults. I've been getting in a fair bit of training.
