to not clear away DP's dirty plate etc.

DP has just gone out to do an hour's work. He made his own full English breakfast, left all the mess in the kitchen, and now left his dirty plate (cutlery akimbo) and mug with tea dregs on the table. AIBU to leave it there for him to clear away? He's quick enough to tell the kids to clear up!

Not at all. Leave it.
(My problem is that I hate having to look at it while it waits for DH to clear it up!)

Convict224 · 23/06/2012 14:07

Leave the plate, then leave the bastard!

TouTou · 23/06/2012 14:09

YY Convict.
Cut out the middle man and leave him.

And shit in his shoe. Bastard.

Bagofholly · 23/06/2012 14:10

Leave the bastard. It will get worse.

Every night my DH makes himself a marmalade sandwich, and every morning I come down to a bread board bearing crumbs, a sticky knife and a gloop of marmalade.

Drives me fecking nuts.

I am considering divorce.

Bagofholly · 23/06/2012 14:16

He sounds very controlling. LTB. IWGW.

Sparks1 · 23/06/2012 14:24

He works on a Saturday and you didn't even make him breakfast?

You should count yourself lucky he isn't leaving you...

wrathomum · 23/06/2012 14:57

My DH does the exact same. It's SOOOOOO maddening. I've tried appealling to his intellect by 'explaining' that putting things straight into the dish washer saves time- ie you don't have to set them down then pick them up again to put them in the dishwasher. Also I've tried explaining that it's kind of depressing to clear up the kitchen only to have it in a state as soon as I turn my back - or that's how it feels. This has had NO effect on my DH but maybe it would be worth a try with yours. Good luck.

Ieavethebastard · 23/06/2012 15:01

Stick it all in a black bag - and put it in the boot of his car.

severnofnine · 23/06/2012 15:11

Yep every morning I come down to crumbs kife butter and jam left out on the side

I'll raise you leaving a bowl full of dirty washing up water. We're meant to share cleaning 50/50 but whenever he cleans up he always leaves a few pans in a bowl of dirty water"to soak". and then the sink gets all scummy. In the past I have left it as a kind of protest.... it once took him 5 days to even notice. that really gets on my tits.

BigRedIndiaRubberBall · 23/06/2012 15:32

severnofnine - at least there's some logic in leaving really dirty pans to soak. My DH leaves a sink full of glasses, plates, teacups and cutlery to soak. Oh, and knives, which means even plunging your hand in to pull the plug once it's gone cold is fraught with danger. The roasting dishes/burnt pans meanwhile are left untouched on the side. Gah!

In response to the OP, obvs it's LTB, surprised you needed to ask Grin

Idocrazythings · 23/06/2012 17:41

I shouldn't complain really as my husband has just done the washing up, but .....when he has made toast he leaves the marmalade / jam / marmite jar on the side, with the knife carefully balanced on top.

Why? If he's going to take the time to carefully balance the knife, why not chuck it in the sink?

ExitPursuedByABear · 24/06/2012 10:55

He dioesn't own a duffle coat Babylon, and as far as I am aware he has never been to Peru Wink
