HELP!!!! LK Bennett refund policy!!!!!!

I already know I am being unreasonable to freak out so badly over this but I desperately need help.

I wanted to give my sister a nice gift for her birthday and I decided to buy something from LK Bennett. She loves brown so I decided on a brown Anna Bag! I confirmed with the sales assistant twice if I could refund the item in case I changed my mind and she said I could do so within 7 days.

Well, I bought the bag today and when I came home and saw it, I changed my mind. I don't think it looks all that great.

Now the trouble is I paid in cash and it turns out the receipt reads "We regret that we don't offer cash refunds". Shouldn't the salesgirl have told me this when I paying her £300 in cash???????

Has anyone heard of this policy before? That you can't return an item if you pay in cash but you can if you pay by card??? This is so unfair.

I can't afford to lose £300 at this point. An exchange or credit not will be worthless since I've already done my share of shopping for this season.

I'm going back tomorrow to return the bag. What shall I do if she refuses:(:(

Poor old LK Bennett. It's not their week on MN is it?

I didn't see this thread initially but I'm glad to read it had a good outcome. I really don't understand why some posters were so antagonistic to you OP, fwiw I thought you had a valid point, hopefully LKB will make their policies clearly in the future.

VonHerrBurton · 26/06/2012 14:55

That's great news OP - like I said, I would have been amazed if they weren't prepared to refund you! There's no way they would have given you a 'tought shit' answer, they'd go out of business.

squeakytoy · 26/06/2012 18:51

doesnt annoy me at all OP Grin

what would have made me laugh though, is if you were mega overdrawn on your card, and the refund had just paid a bit of your overdraft off... Grin

Ps... My bag cost more than yours.. and I didnt have to take mine back.. Wink

JustFabulous · 26/06/2012 19:22

The OP didn't have to take it back, she chose too.

Gosh, what fantastic luck that someone important from LK Bennett happened to see this thread. That's super.

Can they pop on over to the other threads too, if they haven't already, and sort out so swiftly all the gripes other customers have had too?

Maybe they have already? God bless the LK Bennettbot. Makes me miss that Asdabot of yore who did sterling service on here.

Ah, memories....

Whoneedssleepanyway · 26/06/2012 19:45

Glad you got the money back OP.

mummytowillow · 26/06/2012 20:26

Your only legally entitled to a refund if your item is faulty!

Shops offer exchanges and refunds as a goodwill gesture, so changing your mind doesn't mean you can have a refund!

However, I do think they will let you but on your card or credit receipt?

My, my, my. Snarky aren't we? Given the shock you expressed over someone spending £300, it doesn't sound to me like your own handbag would have cost more. But if you say it did, I'll believe you.

Anyway, the handbag I use costs more than that too and I didn't have to take it back either. Guess why? Because I liked it and I didn't already have something similar. Spending £300 on something you like is vastly different from spending it on something nobody will ever use and wasting the money. Simple concept and easily grasped by all but you.

I don't think it would have been disappointing at all had the refund paid off my overdraft.I would have loved that! It's a good thing isn't it? Because then the money from my account wouldn't have been used to pay it off.

Honestly, your opinions and views on finances in general don't seem very practical. I'm curious to know how you manage your expenses.

Hmm

Let it go love.

PenisVanLesbian · 29/06/2012 15:07

you're calling someone else snarky? Ironic much?

StuntGirl · 29/06/2012 17:24

This entire thread is ridiculous.
