hoiks judgy pants...

hmm i suspect that some of those will hurt from personal experience of tying up my hair...

Rollinginthesleep · 22/06/2012 23:56

I get terrible headaches from that sort of taut styles

YABU, the lo is not going to end up with terrible headaches.

millieandmax · 22/06/2012 23:59

Never mind her hair what about that they have pierced her ears at such a young age, I so don't agree with that.

Rollinginthesleep · 22/06/2012 23:59

Oh yes she might. And probably be too young too verbalise them.

Is it just me or does her hair look quite greasy/mucky too?

I'd never do those, I used to hate ponytails etc as a child, and the horrible feeling when it came out and the blood came back. Only ever really used clips at the fringe in my girls cos of it.

tittytittyhanghang · 23/06/2012 00:03

Meh, it doesn't look overly taut to me, and her dd looks fairly happy.

tittytittyhanghang · 23/06/2012 00:04

rhonda i thought her hair looked wet, like the mum dampened it before she did anything.

rhondajean · 23/06/2012 00:04

Looking through her blog - they have her with a bow in the tiny but of fluff on her head the day she was born!

Softlysoftly · 23/06/2012 00:04

List of issues in that link-

Hair too tight

Covered in horrible chemically product

Looking at the sink she's used straighteners, how hot and risky?!

She admits that there are regular meltdowns and "non-sweet" language used but it's all worth it (to who? not the toddler)

She's using rubber bands causing hair damage and they hurt like a bitch when removed as they are grabby

Final nail - her ears are pierced

Wow given myself a deep judgy pants wedgy

squeakytoy · 23/06/2012 00:04

the hair was probably wet to get it into those styles more easily, but they really are dreadful styles too..

rhondajean · 23/06/2012 00:07

Ahhh damp. Hadnt thought of that!

There is a photo of her getting her ears pierced too.

WishingRLwouldFuckOff · 23/06/2012 00:13

I think hair looks greasy as it has product (hairspray/mouse etc)in it to make it more managable or is wet.

I spend 90% of my life with hair tied up in various styles. I like it long, but it needs restricting do to work. I don't get headaches because of it. I do get an odd feeling when the hair folicles move back to how they are supposed to be when not up, or of it has a ton of product due to the style/reason for it being up. I hate product in my hair cos of it.

Personally I think it is very hard to keep hair out of eyes and that clips are pretty ineffectual in the very active toddler. They constantly fall out. However, she says that it is a battle to get the hair up and that is more of a problem imo.

However, I would like to ask the op what her experience of having hair up is, and whether she is a hair up/hair down kinda person?

tittytittyhanghang · 23/06/2012 00:22

I sometimes get that odd feeling too Wishing, its not painful or anything though. In over 30 years of putting my hair up in various styles I have never had a headache because of it.

My ds doesnt like getting his hair brushed, and it is a real battle sometimes, but imo thats not a good enough reason for me not to brush his hair into some sort of near normal appearance Grin

WishingRLwouldFuckOff · 23/06/2012 00:24

Yep ds is the same, as for washing? Sounds like murder. He has it very short. But you can't really do that with girls.

rogersmellyonthetelly · 23/06/2012 08:26

Does anyone in the real world actually spend time doing their toddlers hair? Other than the basic necessity of getting most of it off their face so they can see where they are going/not get dinner in it?

TantrumsAndBalloons · 23/06/2012 08:29

My dd has had her hair cane rolled on and off since she was 2

I don't think it has caused her any major trauma

Sirzy · 23/06/2012 08:31

I wasn't too bothered by it until I read the disclaimers at the bottom which make it clear this is done no matter how much the child doesn't like having it done

Flossie69 · 23/06/2012 09:01

Have been reading the bit about her getting her ears pierced Shock
And I can't believe she is being judgey about another parent waiting to get her 2 month old done!! She says she should have found it easier as she is used to giving shots, but those would be for essential health reasons - this is so different.

I have a DD who is 2, I couldn't contemplate putting her through this sort of pain :(

Sirzy · 23/06/2012 09:02

Poor thing :(

cocolepew · 23/06/2012 09:05

Someone needs to buy that woman a Girls World.

TheSpokenNerd · 23/06/2012 09:12

I get hedaches if I wear my hair up for a day....but the main question is HOW did she get thepoor LO to stay still?? Velcro?

TheSpokenNerd · 23/06/2012 09:13

Is she American? They call them "Shots".... Tantrums what is "cane rolled"?

Sirzy · 23/06/2012 09:16

The spoken - read to the bottom and she explains how she has to distract her, follow her around and argue with her to get it done!

GeometricGiraffe · 23/06/2012 09:16

The comments at the bottom of the ear piercing section... Shock

Gosh, its so fun having a girl - uh, they're not dolls.

Babies and little girls with little pierced ears celebrates their femininity and femaleness - because girls aren't feminine without them?

I'm sorry, I know I have my judgey pants on but those comments are ridiculous.
