I know IABU, DS1 (4) is going camping tomorrow until sunday with DH. Its been booked/looked forward too for ages. DH is a fantastic dad ...............so why do I feel sick to the pit of my stomach.

Doesn't help that DS1 is a bit under the weather and was teary tonight about going without me ( i have been very positive, smiley smiley to him).

I'll be at home with teething grumpy but adorable DS2 but going to miss him so much.

Go on tell me to get a grip, I need a slap!

Have just cancelled our weekend camping trip because of the weather!

dribbleface · 22/06/2012 06:45

yeah have a feeling they will be back before Sunday at this rate!

If it's anything like our weather, they won't even bother packing the car up.

PurplePidjin · 22/06/2012 07:04

Dp works at some car events (not this weekend) and if a child goes missing, they lock down the site. Every staff member, on duty or not, plus mates gets roped in.

Make sure your ds knows where to go or who to look for if he can't see daddy, there'll always be someone in a fluorescent jacket.

Hope they run the jet car this weekend (if it's the event I'm thinking of where dc need ear defenders) Wink

He'll have a ball (weather permitting............)

PurplePidjin · 22/06/2012 13:46

Have i just seen on fb that it's been postponed? I'd call ahead and check before travelling...

Wanna do an MN meetup at Action in September? (next time I'll be up there, we're 3.5 hours away) :o

dribbleface · 23/06/2012 11:05

PurplePidjin - guess it went ahead. Never been to action, DH has though. Probably won't make Sept one though as DS1 starts school.....eek!

I hope so!

Action is awesome, huge show but really friendly and family oriented. Everything's really early this year though, so it's actually 31/8-2/9, I've never known it fall in August before Shock

PurplePidjin · 23/06/2012 14:00

PS, how are you coping?

dribbleface · 26/06/2012 21:08

GRRR. Blooming phone wouldn't let me on and laptop was left at work! He got on fine and I was fine too!

Definately won't make action, DS starts school on the 4th Sept!

Meh, that's 2 whole days later! Glad they had fun :)

dribbleface · 26/06/2012 21:57

Grin, DS1 has the habit of getting ill as soon as he gets overtired, makes holidays really fun!

Come Friday night, leave Sunday morning? Day trip? Wink

OP- both my DSs went camping individually with DH for a weekend when they were each aged 4. They absolutely loved it and still talk about it now aged 11 and 8. We go camping as a family too so they had both been camping but going individually with Daddy was what made it special.

Your DS will be fine and will have a whale of a time. It is also nice to be left just looking after one child I think, so again you can have 1-1 time although your DD may be too young for you to enjoy that at the moment.

Trioofprinces · 27/06/2012 08:02

That serves me right for not reading all the messages - it's already happened :o
