Then they should actually ride it?

Not scoot 1 minute to the bus stop, get on bus with scooter, hitting everyone in the process, get off bus and scoot 30 seconds to the school gate??

What is the point?

There were 7, yes 7 scootering DCs on the bus this morning, they all got off at the bus stop outside the school, 30 seconds from the gate.

Surely if you live too far to walk and you have to take the bus dont bring a scooter

My dd can walk 2 miles (we dont drive so both of my dc walk a lot)but really quite slowly. If yours can walk at the same pace as you great but they arent all the same. She isnt allowed to hurtle too far away from me and obviously we have rules about roads and other people and scooting generally - it was one of the reasons I waited aother year actually.

I do think it is riduculous to state that dd cant walk quickly enough just because I havent made her - they all grow differently, I could say that someone elses dc should be sleeping through or not being picky about food just because mine are but it doesnt make it true.

Also it may make me a terrible parent but I dont have the capacity to meander and point out flowers etc at 7.45 in the morning when it may be blowing a gale and pissing it down. There is just dropping ds off as quickly as possible and getting home again. Walking isnt a romantic pleasure for us, it is just what we do to get from a-b, there is no other choice and therefore if dd can go faster and enjoy it more by using a scooter then I will encourage her.

Most of the kids at our school bring their scooters to show off which one they've got, how 'customised' it is and do bunny hops off the little wall, and all that crap! Exercise comes a long way down the list of Reasons For Bringing The Scooter!
