With this women?

Am a nanny, employers and I have decided that since youngest DC is going to school in Sept we would like to find another faamily to join us in a share.

Had a reply last week from a lady with a young baby who will be returning to work soon, she asked if she could come and meet us this week, so we arranged for her to come round today for a chat, told dc that she was coming (eldest charge is happy about having a baby to play with youngest doesn't take change very well so we thought it best to start preparing him early on), I have spent all day tidying, preparing tea so it could just be heated, making muffins, youngest was up most of the night because he kept thinking of things he wanted to ask, I recently moved house so spent about an hour last night going through boxes to find my folder with certificates in and boss came home early to meet her.

She didn't turn up, no phone call, email or text and no answer when I rang her.

I am really cross, ok it meant that I got to finish work early but surely even a quick text would have been basic manners?

YABU to be cross before knowing what happened. She could have had an accident, or some other situation which was more important than contacting you. It remains to be seen if YANBU once you find out the reason she didn't come.

YAnBU to be cross.

But think of it as a lucky escape. If she's unreliable and has no manners you are better off discovering it now, rather than when you're working for her.

You sound lovely to have gone to all that effort to make a good impression and she obviously wouldn't appreciate you. Good luck with finding a family that will.

agree with pp. She could call later with a very valid excuse.

You are going to feel awful if something bad has happened. Wait until you have the facts before getting all irate.
