to want to shove Katie's slippy dippy soap where the sun don't shine?

Now. I actually really like the premise of I Can Cook - show kids where food comes from, teach then to cook actual dishes by themselves etc etc etc. But JESUS she's irritating! Let's pop a pepper! Let's do a chicken dance! Choose life! SOD. OFF. That amount of forced energy in a human being only ever ends in hernias in my experience.

I like Sid and the two on Show Me Show Me (that programme taught my DGC to count).

StepOutOfSpring · 18/06/2012 21:49

I find the Show Me Show Me ones so fake though! Very unnatural smiles.

RaPaPaPumPumBootyMum · 18/06/2012 22:05

Yeah Katy is irritating with her wrinkling nose and forced bonhomie.

You can just tell she is a very determined sort of gel, cheery head girl, teacher's pet type.

Her pirate impression is really quite annoying too.

PoppyWearer · 18/06/2012 22:20

Aww, I like Katy, she does work for charideee...climbed Kilimanjiro IIRC.

And she does all the enthusiastic stuff so that I can sit and MN on the sofa Grin. Half joking.

It did get a bit much when Andy was off and she was doing all the links as well...

Skillbo · 18/06/2012 23:37

I am NOT a fan - she is just toooo jolly (as many posters have said!) And yes PoppyWearer, was sick of the sight of her when she was doing all the links and lunchtime stories and songs - gah! She always seems to get a plum role in the panto as well when-i-just-want-to-see-more-sid-who-is-just-lovely!

However, a friend runs a family friendly festival and had her there last year to do some stories and cooking, I think, and he said she was great... Wonder what she was like once the kids were in bed - for some reason, I can't really picture her getting wankered in a corner of the dance tent Smile

thebody · 18/06/2012 23:44

Thank u god!!

Given up child minding 2 weeks ago and never ever have to watch her again.

Love thread as missing fireman Sam, now he is sexy!!!?

scentednappyhag · 18/06/2012 23:51

I love her Blush Granted, she can't sing for toffee, but I think she's lovely!

justabigdisco · 19/06/2012 00:09

Oh I'd rather watch Katy than Mister bleedin Maker any day.

cambridgeferret · 19/06/2012 13:00

Find Fireman Sam a bit too practical, but I'd get my hands round Tom Thomas's chopper any day :)

gastrognome · 19/06/2012 13:07

I think she's OK, as a kids' TV presenter. I thought being fake jolly and smily was part of the job description! She's certainly no more irritating than Mr Maker.

WifiNappies · 19/06/2012 13:14

I can't abide her - it's the nose wrinkling and forced jolliness for me too. Also for some reason I hate how she makes a point of saying all the kids' names like she knows them all personally. YOU DON'T FOOL ME LOVE!!

My mate fancies her but he's a real foodie and lusts after any woman who can slide assorted veg onto her kebab Hmm

yellowbottle · 19/06/2012 13:32

Did you know that Mr Maker is Mr Liker Biker from Grandpa in my pocket? We are loving Come Outside in this house at the moment!!

Glitterknickaz · 19/06/2012 13:56

OP YASooooooNBU

Glitterknickaz · 19/06/2012 13:56

just put the soap sideways Wink

RaPaPaPumPumBootyMum · 19/06/2012 14:10

No gastrognome, being fake and jolly is not part of the job description for a children's entertainer!

This is exactly the problem with Katy, she tries too hard and seems to have a need to be centre of attention, OTT hilarious, all the time.

She is like an attention seeking class clown but also super proper cheery head girl all in one.

Katy just seems overbearing and pushy. She is determined to be centre of attention at all times.

Gee, I really didn't realise how much I dislike her until I started writing this Blush

I do like all the other Cbeebies presenters though, yes even Mr Tumble and Mr Maker!

PoppyWearer · 19/06/2012 14:14

When is it The Big Splash again?

WifiNappies · 19/06/2012 15:29

Is Sid the allotment fella? Because HE is yum!

Lambzig · 19/06/2012 15:33

I can just about take Katie, but its Nina I cant stand. My DH has infected me with his pathological loathing of what he terms "that pseudo-science harridan haranguing children about exercise".

Whenever she is on I like to nudge him and say "You've got to go out with her"

justabigdisco · 19/06/2012 17:15

No Wifi that's Mr Bloom, now we are talking!!

debsl75 · 19/06/2012 17:37

:o I'm sure she's probably a really nice person but my goodness that programm is damn annoying. I'm glad my DS is getting too old to watch it. I had no idea about the 'bum bag', will have to watch, I'd love to see her looking like a 'deformed camel' (TheskiingGardener :o )

yellowbottle · 19/06/2012 18:32

It's Alex I feel sorry for. So much talk of Mr. Bloom and Sid amoungst Mumsnetters. Andy even gets a look in sometimes Hmm and even Mr. Tumble Hmm Hmm. It's like poor Alex is invisible Sad

IHaveAFeatureWallAndILikeIt · 19/06/2012 18:40

I don't like I can cook either, the food the kids make always looks like a disgusting pile of slop and there are so many simple and yummy recipes they could be making!

IHaveAFeatureWallAndILikeIt · 19/06/2012 18:41

I'm a Bloomie, he is lovely!

WifiNappies · 19/06/2012 18:57

When I first encountered Andy I thought he was Fatima Whitbread Blush

I can see a certain something in Justin, but definitely NOT Mr Tumble

Will also look out for Katy's waist-hump!

PoppyWearer · 19/06/2012 19:12

Oh but even once you work out that Alex isn't gay, you then find out he's got a wife and kids. Very off putting for me.

Have seen him IRL and if the tall hot blonde with him at the time was Mrs Alex, he's a lucky boy!
